HOW TO HELP ANIMALS

Always remember to check with your local shelter to see what they need. Your donation will go directly to the animals, as a rule, in sharp contrast to some of the large national groups, whose donation income goes toward large administrative salaries and other expenses, not always for animals. But to be sure, be prepared to check out the shelter. Not all of them are as honorable as they proclaim.

New T-shirt now available!

I may get the hang of this yet. I took another class on how to make and sell t-shirts, and this is my first project! As it says on the site, the proceeds go toward supporting the cats here in my shelter. And the shirts are not only fun to wear, but they make great gifts for the holidays.

According to a new study, it seems cats are quite capable of interpreting our emotions. This isn't unique to dogs.

I'm always amazed at the amount of research it takes to prove the most obvious things. And while I agree with these conclusions, it's a little far-fetched to rely on findings when only 12 cats were involved in the study.
