NEWS DIARY NOTICE: Wednesday, 29 May, Croke Park, Dublin
WHAT? The National Charity Summit, hosted by The Wheel, the national association of charities, community groups and social enterprises.
Over 400 representatives of Ireland's leading charities, will gather to discuss some of the key issues affecting the sector and Irish society, including:
- increasing polarisation
- social isolation (Ireland has the highest levels of loneliness in Europe according to a recent survey by the European Parliament)
- the role of the charity sector in promoting positive social change
- supporting community and the forthcoming local and European elections.
WHEN? Wednesday, 29 May from 9.30 am – 4.40 pm.
WHERE? Croke Park Conference Centre, Croke Park, Dublin 3, D03 P6K7
WHY? This is a unique opportunity to learn more about many of the key issues facing Irish society in the lead-up to the local and EU elections, and the role of the sector in addressing those issues

WHO? The event will be attended by leaders from across the charity/NGO/nonprofit sector. The 30+ speakers and facilitators include:
- Noeline Blackwell, Human Rights Lawyer Noeline Blackwell and former CEO of Dublin Rape Crisis Centre
- Derek Walker, Future Generations Commissioner of Wales
- Dr. Larry O'Connell, Director of the National Economic and Social Council (NESC)
- Ivan Cooper, CEO of The Wheel
