Dear Macro members,

I am thrilled to report our 2015 Student Honorarium winners!

Benward Honorarium

Traix Heiden, Truman State Unversity, sponsoring MACRO member Warren Gooch
Traix is active in music analysis and composition at Truman State, and has also studied at University of Kansas City-Missouri. He is also a vocalist. For this reason he has produced fine choral and vocal works as part of his creative repertoire. He is also a published author and poet. Traix prefers to write larger works for mixed ensembles and is currently working on a cantata based on a story of his own creation. After completing his undergraduate degree, Traix plans to continue his education toward a Master’s and then Doctorate in music composition.

Fountain Honorarium

Nicholas Gragg, Truman State Unversity, sponsoring MACRO member Warren Gooch
Nicholas is a composer, performer and theorist. He is involved in many instrumental ensembles at Truman State. He is extremely creative, and has already written many ambitious works. He is always ready to perform new music and is very supportive of other student musicians. Nicholas is also engaged in an intriguing student research project investigating significant concert composers who are under the age of thirty. His goal is to teach trombone at the university level and to encourage and support young musicians in the field.

Congratulations to our winners!
