A RECIPE FOR THANKSGIVING - #101
From the kitchen of: My Triune God
Serving size: Family
Recipe for: "Your Father's Love"
Ingredients: Galatians 3:26, "For you are all [children] of God through faith in Christ Jesus." - Psalm 115:1, "Not unto us, O LORD, not unto us, but to Your name give glory, because of Your great mercy, and because of Your truth."
Personal Notes: I love this recipe. The taste reminds me of times in my life where I wondered what my father or mother really thought about me, by my own measurement, in the amount of time that they spent with me and love shown me. There were times I was too embarrassed to approach them with problems. But I knew they had my best interests at heart.
Instructions: First, take 3:26 from Galatians. When your perfect Heavenly Father gives you a bite of this sweet smelling ingredient, remember that He tells you of how He planned this recipe especially for you. He reminds you of His amazing Sacrifice that gave you this key truth through His Son Jesus Christ. As God's child, be confident that He provides and cares for you; and knows what you need before you even ask Him.
Second, take Psalm 115:1. It is vital that when you try to measure God's love in your life, you don't "eye-ball" or "guess" the measurement of His love for you apart from His Word (this tends to lessen the flavor of the recipe and taint other ingredients)! Recognize His measurement of love is perfect and unending. In these ingredients and instructions from your Heavenly Father you'll taste and see that "Your Father's Love" is a recipe to be thankful for, for the rest of your life!
Our Father in heaven, hallowed be Your name,
Your Kingdom come,
Your will be done on earth as in heaven.
Give us today our daily bread.
Forgive us our sins as we forgive those who sin against us.
Lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.
For the kingdom, the power, and the glory are Yours now and forever.
Amen.
