Los Manatees played a wedding out in Lancaster County, PA a few weeks ago. Amish country. Horse and buggies. It was a gray day but the clouds kindly parted and let the sunlight through just as the service began. During the reception it started to hail a little bit. I told the guests that it was God himself throwing rice on the newlyweds. Suddenly the hail stopped and a rainbow appeared… Congratulations Bob and Sara!

Four days later we were playing at "Aphrodites" On Main St. during the last game of the World Series. People were getting crazy and the lunar eclipse going on outside wasn't helping much.

A few days later we were playing our last outdoor show of the year at Kelly and Julia's 2nd Annual Manatawny Ridge Oktoberfest in Pottstown, PA. This year the weather, the stage, and the food was even better. They even had a beer truck complete with souvenir cups. Special thanks to Lady Lee and also brother Fran on mandolin. Frandolin? Then it was time for our Halloween weekend double-header. On Friday we played the 19th Annual Manatee Masquerade at The Sandtrap in Limerick, PA. Web-master Michael Jones took some photos of the show. You can see them by going to our web-site photo gallery. Our Manatee merchandise maiden Cherri won the costume prize with boyfriend Andy. They were dressed as a wall socket and a plug. BeBop Tom played sax, DJ Big Daddy sang a couple of songs, and noted thespian Dance Wareham performed one of his own compositions on guitar and vocals. They were all in full costume. Special thanks to Bob Rominiecki who did the great light show projections at both the Masquerade and the Oktoberfest.

The next night found us up in Lahaska, PA, near Peddler's Village, playing at Bob Powell's annual Halloween party. Randy and I played with Bob Tomlinson (guitar, vocals, and trumpet), cousin Myles Rothwell (drums), and cousin Paul McDonnell (electric guitar).

Bob Powell was dressed up like Pee-Wee Herman (complete with bicycle). He actually had the best costume of the night but he was ineligible to win the costume contest because it was his party.

• This Friday we're at Crazy Carl's with the Rhino Horns. Desoto Rust will be performing upstairs.
• On Thursday, Nov. 11, Randy and I return for an acoustic duo gig at Bourbon Blue in Manayunk, PA.
• Two days later on Sat., Nov. 13, Los Manatees debuts at The Bridgeport Rib-house with the electric quartet. Showtime is 9:30pm.
• On Wed., Nov. 24th, we will be playing at Pete Wrock's 24th Annual Thanksgiving Eve Party in Doylestown, PA. Also on the bill is The Philadelphia Bluegrass Band. Talk to Pete. He also wants you to know that his good friend, artist Chris Harford, is having a one-man show of paintings and illustrations on Sat., Nov. 6th, from 4 to 8pm, at Applehead Studios, 29 Morwood Rd., Telford, PA.
