Native Plant Conservation Campaign News: National Museum of Natural History Botany Department presents images and information about spring wildflowers this week.
May 21, 2020

The Department of Botany at the Smithsonian National Museum of Natural History has produced a mini-campaign on the museum's social media channels this week (May 18-22).

It specifically focuses on spring flowers, with the goal to help inspire the public to look at plants with greater interest (Fight Plant Invisibility (aka plant blindness)!). The content features images and films of wildflowers from around the U.S. along with facts and commentary about their life cycles, pollinators and more.

The Division of Birds had a similar campaign in April and the Department of Entomology will be featured in June. The ongoing series is called #NatureNerding101. https://twitter.com/search?q=naturenerding101&src=recent_search_click&f=live.
