DUTCH WORKSHOPS
Only a few more hours and it will be 2015! 2014 was a great year for Learn Dutch Fast, you can see some pictures and videos of last year's lessons on this Facebook Page.
Is learning Dutch on your list of resolutions? Then join us (Ellen, Evelyn, Syl & Syl) in the morning of January 9th in Bussum (10 a.m. - 1 p.m.) for a series of workshops in Dutch: a creative workshop, a workshop about talent and body language, a Dutch language game and last but not least a workshop about health. €10,- only, including snacks and drinks. For intermediate and advanced Dutch level.
Send a mail to info@learndutchfast.nl for more info and registration. If you don't speak Dutch at all, you could try the:
FREE WEBINAR: YOUR FIRST DUTCH LESSON
January 11th, 5 p.m. - 6 p.m.
Like the title explains, this webinar will be for very beginners. After this webinar, you will understand the basic structure of Dutch.
Send a mail to info@learndutchfast.nl for more info and registration.
APP: DUOLINGO
If you have some time for self-study during the holidays, you could try this App, tested for you by Elisa Crassweller. This is her review:
Duolingo is a free app for the web or your phone (available on iPhone App Store, Google Play and Windows Store). It is an easy way to test your Dutch through a mix of listening, speaking, and writing exercises.
Points help you track your progress and set goals.
If you are the forgetful type, the app can send you daily reminders to practice.
The app does a good job with the pronunciation and listening portions (there is even a repeat it slower option).
On the website you can also discuss the exercises. You can't skip ahead to more advanced sections (unless you "test out") but you can always revisit earlier sections for practice.
The Dutch portion of the app is still in beta so sentence translations aren't always perfect. Overall Duolingo is pretty solid for a free app.
REMINDER: LOOKING FOR LINGUISTS
Are you a linguist? Do languages come easily to you? Would you like to participate in my research about learning languages and hypnosis? Please send me a mail if you would be interested: info@learndutchfast.nl (A meeting is planned for January 20th, for about 2 hrs, in or near Bussum, you won't be hypnotised!)
Send a mail to info@learndutchfast.nl for more info and registration.
HOW TO SAY "HAPPY NEW YEAR" IN DUTCH
"Gelukkig Nieuwjaar!"
And for the next couple of days, you will sound really Dutch when you say:
"Nog de beste wensen, hè!"
(Soundfile)
Gelukkig Nieuwjaar!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

(P.S.: the latest schedule for the Dutch courses is always here)
