"Far from being self-proclaimed slack mothers their work ethic and life ethos is to be admired, if not from afar, but from the front row of a sweaty mosh pit as if your own existence depended on it. " The Quietus
"ultimately the album stands in euphoric, unrepentant denial of it's own title" Mojo

"Impassioned, sparking with energy and absurdly bouncy, it's a reminder of everything the North Carolina quartet did well - full-throttle drive, fizzing, Catherine wheel-melodies and buzz-saw riffs…." Uncut
"I Hate Music will be a companion album for those who find themselves wondering recently if they might have fallen out of love with rock n roll. The answer is delivered loudly – you haven’t, you never will, with Superchunk around it’s not f**king possible." Drowned in Sound

Superchunk premiered the new Taiyo Kimura directed video for “Staying Home” from their new album, I Hate Music via The Quietus.
Says Mac, , “We didn’t talk about any ideas, and when Taiyo sent it he warned me, like, ‘At one point, there’s someone wearing a mask of you, I’m eating curry out of a toilet...' People around the office are like, ‘I can’t stop thinking about eating out of a toilet now.’”

Superchunk kick off the next leg of touring in support of I Hate Music this weekend at Riot Fest in Denver followed by an east coast run including a visit to The Late Night with Jimmy Fallon Show on 27th September.
November/ December will see the band heading to the UK including a newly confirmed show in Leeds on 2nd December
Superchunk’s I Hate Music is available now on CD, LP, and digital in the Merge store and at iTunes.
