Hello, Firstname

Saturday 16 July - Warwick
PAGB Inter Club PDI competition, Warwick, Saturday 16 July

Organising our entry requires images from members, but also a firm grasp of the rules which on first glance appear quite complicated
The competition comprises 3 rounds.

- Round 1 is for 8 images. These have to be pre-selected from a bank of 40 images.  You can see our initial selection below.
- Round 2 is for another 8 images.   These are nominated on the day, allowing you to respond to any perceived bias by the judges for or against a particular genre.
In each of these two rounds you can have no more than 2 images per author and no more than 2 nature images.

After the two rounds, the scores are totalled and ranked.  The top eight go forward to compete for the main competition, whilst the remaining clubs can compete for the shield.

- The final (round 3).
You select 20 from the bank of images and those used in rounds 1 and 2.  However, at least 10 of the images must be previously un-used.  Its then a balance to retain as many of the higher scoring images in a hope they will do as well as on the prior rounds and dropping lower scoring ones replacing with new images from the remaining un-used 24 from the pool of 40.  However, it’s not that straight forward as there are  still limits on the number of nature images (max 5 out of the 20) and on the number of images per author (max 4).

The plate competition
This has a smaller entry – 8 images at least 4 of which are previously un-used.  No more than 2 per author and no more than 2 nature.

Needless to say, non of the images can have been used in this competition in prior years.

NOTE: Not all the images within the pool can be used so please don’t get disheartened if yours are not – it really depends on what the judges are giving the highest scores to on the day.  EVERYONE who has submitted images or entered competitions previously has helped providing us with the strongest set of images for the pool, below – this is a team effort and we should all be proud to have got this far.

You’ll have seen in the last few Newsletters how to obtain tickets – why not come along and show support for the team?

PAGB Interclub PDI Competition at Warwick
Saturday 16 July - PAGB Inter-Club PDI Championship at Warwick University

It's a great day out and a chance to support your club, see some of the best images in the Country and to meet photographers from around the rest of Great Britain - so come on, open the padlock on your wallet and buy your tickets now!

The above competition is one of the most keenly fought events in the calendar.
The TOP TWO clubs from each regional federation competition win the right to represent themselves, their members and their region in this annual national battle.

In the 2021 national competition we competed against 50+ other clubs from across GB, eventually finishing 8th

That final position, ie 8th, guaranteed us qualification at this year’s championship, but not being complacent we underlined our right to be there with our win in DPIC at the beginning of this year.

Tickets for this year’s battle are available now via the PAGB website – costing £12:50.

Come and join us in the audience and lend us your support. We’ve earned our place, let’s see if we can better last year’s outcome.

Irrespective of where we finish, it will be a great day filled with the very best images from the very best photographers in the country.
