Dear Macro members,

I am thrilled to report our 2016 Student Honorarium winners!

Benward Honorarium

Timothy Mullins is a music major at Eastern Michigan University studying music theory and composition. Timothy has taken all of the theory and composition courses offered at Eastern Michigan, even those not required for his degree. His principle instrument is the flute. As a musician, Timothy wants to strive for going above and beyond, to look beyond the notes on the page and to actually understand and delve into why music is so important, not just to the world, but also to himself. Timothy plans to complete his undergraduate degree and then pursue a Masters in Music Composition. In writing her letter of recommendation, Professor Saker mentioned that Tim has a sense of humor not unlike that of Dr. Benward, so he is the perfect choice for our Benward Honorarium.

She is also a member of the marching band, serving as clarinet section leader and this year as the drum major for the band. She is also a member of the professional co-ed music fraternity Mu Phi Epsilon - Epsilon Lambda and has held multiple positions with the group, including Historian, Chapter Bonding chair this year as President. Audrey works passionately at everything she does because she knows this will benefit her own students in the future.
