1 Corinthians 6:11 But you were washed, you were sanctified, you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of our God.
THE HOLY SPIRIT'S BLESSED WORK GOES ON TILL THE END OF TIME
"Now, this is the article which must ever be and remain in operation; for creation is an established fact, and redemption too, is finished. But the Holy Spirit carries on His work without ceasing until the Last Day, and for this He has appointed a congregation on earth through which He speaks and does everything. For as yet He has not gathered all the members of Christendom nor dispensed forgiveness to all who are to receive it. Therefore we believe in Him who through the Word daily brings men into the Church and through the same Word and the forgiveness of sins bestowed, increases, and strengthens faith, so that when His work is done, and we have continued in it and have died to the world and all evil, He may finally make us perfectly and eternally holy. For this consummation by the Word we now wait in faith" (What Luther Says, Vol. 2, p. 663).
Prayer: Holy Spirit, Comforter sent from Jesus, work in us by the Word that we may know the truth in Christ. Guard and keep us in the faith that saves. Fill us with power so that we delight in doing good works to the glory of God the Father. Move us to be active in spreading the good news of Jesus to people everywhere so that You may work saving faith in their hearts also; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with You and the Father as one true God, now and forever.
