1 Corinthians 6:14 By his power God raised the Lord from the dead, and he will raise us also.
UPCOMING RESURRECTION
Imagine if a doctor were to develop a treatment that could bring somebody back to life from the dead! Grieving families would empty savings accounts in minutes to pay for such a miracle. Lines outside hospitals would stretch for miles as corpses would be brought to receive an injection causing them to live, breathe, talk, and laugh once again. But alas, there is no such doctor or nurse who can bring the dead back to life.
Yet deep down, it is life from the dead that people seek. A few months ago my wife and I took our daughter to the emergency room. Our case was not life-threatening, but the one in the next room was. We heard the doctors frantically working on a patient who had stopped breathing and we could guess that things were not going well. After a while, all was quiet and when we left the hospital at 4:00 in the morning, we passed near the family members who were lining the hallway outside the door and crying. You could tell that all they wanted was to have their loved one back from the dead.
Man does not have the power to bring the dead to life, but God certainly does. The Scripture promises that this is His plan and goal for us. Just as Jesus was raised from the dead on Easter Sunday, so God will raise us from the dead also. On that Day all tears will be dried-- and there will be no more crying in the hallway because what is impossible for man to accomplish, God will have accomplished with His mighty hand.
May we use these bodies which God will raise from the dead to honor and glorify Him even now!
