Gordon Floyd, beloved husband of Carol and friend to many, died peacefully at home on the island on August 7, 2012.  Gordon first moved to the island in May 2004. Since then he has been involved in the Scotland Island Players, the Flaming Doghouse Band, the offshore art group, island festivals, bush regeneration groups, and SIRA. He coordinated and drove the Community Vehicle for a number of years and worked on numerous committees. Until late last year, when he became ill, he lectured in law at Macquarie University. He loved living on the island and found here a rich and stimulating environment for his many interests within the supportive, creative and diverse offshore community.
