NEW >> WOWW! SUBSCRIBER EXTRA
Wade performed on the Thursday Grand Ole Opry - Country Classics edition on May 13. This was held at the historic Ryman auditorium. The Opry Counry Classics show features country music that is older. Some of the performers are the originators - on this show - T. G. Sheppard and Gene Watson. Some of the performers are newer names doing the older works - Blake Shelton doing Jerry Reed music. Wade was able to do a cut off of his newest album, Place to Turn Around, because of his ongoing tradition of always cutting an older song. In this case, Gary Stewart's "Drinkin' Thing." He also did Merle Haggard's "That's the Way Love Goes." Outstanding! Wade's performances were at 2 separate times on the show - I've joined them for this audio selection.
The Opry Country Classics Show - an EXTRA for WOWW! Subscribers
For WOWW! subscribers extra, I've posted the audio of the performance. So, if you didn't get to hear it the first time, you have a second chance. And if you did hear it, we won't keep you from listening again. There will be no link to this on the web site; the link will only be in this WOWW! e-mail.
ABOUT "SMALL TOWN SATURDAY NIGHT"
This independent movie was released to DVD on June 1. The closing credits feature Wade's "Population Sign." Wade wrote this song specifically for the movie. A bit of his "Good Day to Go Crazy" is near the front of the movie.
It is "R rated" for pervasive language - lots of 'cussing.' Hint - If you start at Scene 20, you'll miss that. The reviews at the front of the movie are not appropriate for children either.
It's also listed on the web sites for CDUniverse and Best Buy
There is a new website for the movie, but it's incomplete at this time.
