Hello & Welcome!
So... here we are, currently driving home from the Mid-Atlantic Quilt Festival which turned out to be a fairly successful show for us. We've got a lot of fun stuff ready for you in today's edition, so while we concentrate on the road and the traffic, go ahead and get started. We'll let you know all the details about the show in a couple of upcoming posts very SOON! And do stay tuned as we continue to develop our next pattern, the Bella BiFold which should be ready for release by the end of March!

It’s
time for your monthly treat for the eyes & I really LOVE this
month's selection of bags.
ALL of the bags pictured below have been shared recently on
(For LARGER images: Click on each individual pic)
Sylvia Turner entered this Flaptastic into a competition and came in 2nd! My only question is why it didn't come in 1st because its lovely!
The fabric, combined with those amazing zippers & the impeccable construction makes this little bag unforgettable!
How about this unique Sling Along sent via Instagram. If you look closely you'll note that a postal uniform and patches was actually used for the exterior fabric! It blows my mind! And the perfect finishing touch was the stitched "envelope" just above the top buckle!
And speaking of Instagram, I became aware of Barbro Wingard when she tagged me in her beautiful Sling Along picture. She said she had trouble sourcing some of the supplies in Sweden but made do with appropriate substitutions for a wonderful finish!
Barbro's most proud of is this one which she created out of raw leather. She had to first mark the pin holes with a spur, create the holes with an awl & then do ALL of the stitching BY HAND! She loves it and uses it everyday with 2 straps as a backpack!
Jeanette Jay says that she picks up used clothing whenever she runs across a piece that "screams to be made into a bag". The exterior she used here for this Side Slinger used to be an embroidered denim shirt! What a cool idea!
Toni Fox-Cole made this Sling Along for an upcoming trip. She added an extra pocket on the front for her keys. She did a great job that now her daughter wants one to use for a diaper bag.
This awesome Gemini FlightBag was spotted on Instagram and was created by #bedhogshop. She created it for a customer who specifically wanted to be able to carry her older model iPad iin this bag!
O Canada! This darling GoGo Compact was spotted on Instagram & was created by Mira Kuusikko (#mirveliku) who said this little cutie was exactly what she needed for an upcoming trip!
And finally, Toni Fox-Cole declared this Side Slinger to be "another learning experience". Turned out that she was a wee bit short on the lovely purple webbing so she used some leftover yellow from her Sling Along (above). It's totally stunning either way!

Contactless payment systems allow consumers to purchase products or services using a debit card, credit card, or mobile wallet without physically inserting or swiping a card into a point-of-sale device, handing a card to staff, signing their names, or entering PINs. It's also called “tap-to-pay,” or “tap-and-go,” and you can learn more about it by clicking HERE! (which is FAR better than having to learn about it in the middle of a trade show from an 8-year old like I did!)

It was announced Friday that the first family has adopted a gray shorthair tabby cat named Willow. Willow evidently made quite an impression on Dr. Biden in 2020 when she jumped up on the stage and interrupted her remarks during a speech she was giving at a Pennsylvania farm. Seeing their immediate bond, the owner of the farm knew that Willow belonged with Dr. Biden. {Click HERE to read more}
(I think Willow looks a LOT like my Tabitha!)

The COVID-19 pandemic has brought sewing and craft and their practical uses into the news. Some sewing machine manufacturers saw a shortage as both big-box retailers and small shops experienced a pandemic sewing rush. Many sewists and crafters dusted off their sewing machines or purchased new ones to begin sewing masks, whether for personal use, for front-line workers or for sale. But will this renewed interest in sewing last? {Click HERE to read more}
