Hello Firstname

Wednesday 17 July

Next Wednesday, 17 July, we welcome Keith Cooper LRPS, who will present his talk – Inspired by Beauty. Keith is an aspiring fine art photographer. His aim in photography, as in life, is to see beauty in the natural world and to try and represent that in his images, whether it is the beauty of a woodland in autumn, a storm in the mountains, the small detail in a landscape or seascape or the image of a beautiful woman. For Keith photography is a journey through life capturing that fleeting moment or glance and preserving that moment through his images.

Taking images, for him, is all about being in the moment and trying to capture the emotion and the essence of that moment. Indeed, his mantra is ‘Seeing beauty in the World’.He is very much influenced by artists and in particular the Pre-Raphaelite painters and the likes of Titian and Botticelli. He tries to reflect these influences in a contemporary way and hopes to continue his photographic journey of capturing and interpreting beauty to produce fine art imagery.Keith would like to acknowledge the debt owed to the beautiful, creative and inspirational models he has had the great fortune to work with.

PAGB INTER-CLUB PDI COMPETITION AT WARWICK
IMPORTANT INFORMATION
Hopefully a fair few of you will be travelling up the M6 & M42 this Saturday to support BPS in this annual photofest! We have received important information regarding the parking arrangements. The carpark that most have used on previous visits, Carpark 7, no longer exists as they have demolished it. Instead you will be directed to Carpark 8, the following email was received by Pete McCloskey:

"Car Park 7 at The Arts Centre at Warwick University has been demolished and you will be directed to Car Park 8 by Centre staff.
You need to head for the Arts Centre off Gibbet Hill Road via the main site entrance near the Security Office. The road outside the Arts Centre is closed off and you cannot reach the Arts Centre and Car Park 8 from the Bus Station end."

I have done a quick check on Google Earth and for satnavs that will take coordinates, these are 52o 2' 55" N, 1o 33' 34.7" W

Advanced Warning - Evening Outing 31 July
The annual BPS outing takes place this year on 31 July. Mike Hall has managed to get the club a private viewing session of house and grounds at KINGS WESTON HOUSE  kingswestonhouse.co.uk. There are also great views of the estuary and bridges and we'll be at the right place at right time to get some good sun-down pictures.
Meet for 7.00pm to finish by 9.00pm.

Photography Course
Last week I asked if you could spread the word about the photography course, both by word of mouth and by social media. Below is a picture advertising the course which you might like to download by clicking on the picture and include in your Facebook (other social media sites are available) page. Alternatively you could download and print the poster and display it in places local to you.

Please remember, that the low cost of your BPS subscription can only remain that way for as long as we continue to get a good attendance (and therefore income) on the course. We would ask, therefore, that as many members as possible help to publicise the course.

Trumpet Blower's Corner
Salon acceptances: BPS photographers are now achieving large numbers of salon acceptances and constraints on time and space mean we can't include them all. So please only advise of awards or other milestones.

Contrary to popular belief, I do not possess psychic powers and need you to tell me if you've had successes. If you want to blow your own trumpet (or someone else's), then this is the place to do it. Please let me know and I'll include details in a future issue.
