 | A letter from the Dean Dear Broad Alumni, An end to yet another academic year is upon us. As we finish 2018-19 and look ahead, I’d like to take a moment to reflect on just some of what we have to celebrate. First and foremost, we celebrate the fact that this spring over 1,200 students received their undergraduate degrees from the Broad College and over 400 students received advanced (graduate) degrees. Among the achievements earned by Broad Spartans, 16 of our undergraduate students were recognized with Board of Trustees Awards for graduating with a perfect 4.0 GPA. Our alumni were also well represented at commencement. Linda Hubbard (BA Accounting ’82), COO and president of Carhartt, was the Broad Undergraduate Commencement Speaker, and Natalya Leahy (MBA ’06), John Duffey (BA Accounting ’82), and Mike Krimbill (BA Accounting ’76) were recognized with Broad College Alumni Achievement Awards. In addition, we achieved significant milestones this year as a college. Other noteworthy happenings at Broad included the successful launch of our M.S. in Healthcare Management program as well as our first BroadX event in Houston, showcasing our faculty's scholarship, which we will look to expand on with future events in more locales—so stay tuned. This was truly a fantastic academic year for these and many other reasons, in large part due to the overwhelming generosity, guidance, and support provided by our proud alumni. We deeply appreciate your continued engagement with our college and our students. I wish you a wonderful summer, and as always, GO GREEN! Sanjay Gupta Eli and Edythe L.
