Luke 9:30-31 Two men, Moses and Elijah, appeared in glorious splendor, talking with Jesus. They spoke about his Exodus, which he was about to bring to fulfillment at Jerusalem.
GOOD TO BE HERE (3)
Jesus wasn't the only one who was glorified on the Mount of Transfiguration. Moses and Elijah also appeared in glorious splendor, and talked with Jesus. If it was special for the inner circle--Peter, James and John--to be included on the mountain, how thrilling it must have been for Moses and Elijah! They had not in their entire earthly lives seen the fulfillment of the great and precious promises of a Redeemer, a Champion, who would crush the head of the serpent and rescue the human race from sin. But when they saw Him on the mountain, they had long ago left behind the dust and sweat of this vale of tears. Their time of seeing only a poor reflection as in a mirror (1 Corinthians 13) was over. Now they were glorified and now they saw Jesus face to face in His glory, too.
They talked about the Exodus that Jesus would accomplish when He led the human race out of the realm of sin, death, and the devil, but He could see already the fruits of His suffering, and be strengthened for the ordeal of making His life a guilt offering because standing before Him were some of the blessed results.
And He knew from Isaiah also that after His suffering He would see His offspring, including you and me, and His Father's will would be done. We too can be strengthened for any ordeal that might possibly lie on our path, knowing that beyond those trials, we also will see Him in glory face to face!
Fulfiller of the past,
Promise of things to be,
We hail Thy body glorified
And our redemption see.
