Here are some of the highlights in our upcoming merry month of music making:
THE RETURN OF JASON CROSBY! - On Wednesday, December 12, we will play the Rising Sun Barn in Telford, PA. Also performing will be the Dewey Decibel System led by financial wizard Roger McNamee and featuring Jason Crosby and Dan "Lebo" Lebowitz. Jason will also be playing with Randy Wagner, Kathleen Weber, Tom Mussleman, and myself. Special guests include Lia Menacker, Sara Hunsicker, and Fiona Hodgson. Tickets: $10. A DOUBLE SHOT OF JUSTIN'S! - We return to Justin's in Skippack, PA, for our regular "second Friday of every month" appearance on Friday, December 14. Then we return there a week later on the following Friday, December 21, to play with Mike Greer. These will both be holiday shows with special guests sitting in. RANGER WILL & THE GIFTED HICKS HOLIDAY SHOW AT GODFREY DANIELS! - That's right, you read right, it's time for a rare Gifted Hicks show. We always play at this time of the season and this year it's at the fabled Godfrey Daniels folk music room in Bethlehem, PA. For over 40 years Godfrey Daniels has presented a wide range of national artists from Pete Seeger to Steve Forbert. Join Randy, Jozo, and I for an evening of homegrown music, home spun tales, and our own special brand of "sit-down stand-up" comedy in the warm setting of this legendary club. Showtime is 8:00 PM. NEW YEAR'S EVE AT HOTEL FIESOLE! - Free admittance! Free party favors! Free music! Free champagne toast at midnight! The Mighty Manatees will play out the old year and play in the new year at Hotel Fiesole in the rustic heart of Skippack, PA. This has become something of a tradition with us over the last few years and it's a whole lot of fun. Upstairs rooms are still available. Showtime is 9:00 to 1:00. http://www.hotelfiesole.net
Also in the news - The Montco Norml Group will meet at 7:00 PM on the 2nd and 4th Wednesdays of every month in the back of McCafferty's in Blue Bell, PA.
And finally, my mother turns 88 years old this month and I would like to wish her a happy birthday. She recently published her sixth book.
