AN EVENING OF MARK TWAIN with BENJAMIN GRIFFIN
The Autobiography of Mark Twain, Vol. 1
Thursday, March 24 at 7 PM
The year 2010 marks the 100th anniversary of Twain's death. In celebration of this important milestone, his uncensored autobiography has been published in its entirety and exactly as he left it. This major literary event presents his authentic voice, brimming with humor, ideas, and opinions, and speaking clearly from the grave - just as he intended.
Meet Benjamin Griffin, one of the editors of this "treasure trove for serious Twain readers" (Booklist), who will discuss this first of three volumes. Twain left strict instructions that his autobiography be left unpublished for 100 years so that when it came out, he would be "dead, and unaware, and indifferent," and therefore free to speak his "whole frank mind."
