(Isaiah 40:21-31 The Lord gives strength to the weak.)

Isaiah 40:25-26 "'To whom then will you compare me, that I should be like him?'" Says the Holy One. "Lift up your eyes on high and see who has created these things? [talking about the stars] Who brings out their host by number, He calls them all by name, by the greatness of his might, and the strength of His power; not one is missing."

CONSIDER GOD'S POWER OVER THE UNIVERSE

Is God really able to keep track of all the millions of people on earth? Is it possible that we could get lost in the multitude? Isaiah urges us to look at the stars of the universe. Astronomers estimate that there are 6,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000, that's 6 septillion stars in the universe.

Think about the greatness of our God. He not only created all those massive sources of light simply by speaking a word, "Let there be lights in the firmament." He also brings them out by number and "calls them all by name." By His mighty power "not one is missing."

If God is so great that He knows every single star in the universe and takes individual care of these balls of gas, certainly he sees and knows what is going on in your life. The stars are there to serve us. They beautify our world and give glory to God, leading us to see His power and splendor. God has shown us that we are much more important to Him than the stars.

This same God who created and sustains the whole universe is the God who invites us to come to Him with every need and worry. There is nothing that He cannot take care of for us. Our troubles seem very insignificant in comparison to the vastness of the universe, but to God they are all important. He wants us to come to Him, not to any false god. He wants us to call upon Him with confidence, not anyone or anything else.

It is by God's grace in Christ that He does promise to watch over us and help all who call upon Him. It is not possible that He would not see us or help us when we call on Him.
