Newsletter for Offshore Residents of Pittwater, Australia Volume 9, Issue 225 March 2007 |
|
"Last year
Pittwater Council
indicated that no-one really knew exactly how many offshore residents use
the
car park and the commuter wharf. Everyone agreed that there was a
need to find
the answers.
In order to best represent offshore residents' interests, SIRA and WPCA are conducting a survey of all offshore residents and/or owners to assist in determining their needs, usage and opinions in relation to car parking, commuter boat use, public transport etc. The survey is in two parts: part one is a simple census which will provide hard figures on usage of the car park and commuter wharf; part two is based on the Issues and Options Paper developed in December 2006 by GHD, the Consultant employed by Council to determine the future of the car park and the commuter wharf. This second part of the survey aims to provide a comprehensive offshore response to the options. The surveys will be posted out this week week beginning 12 March and include a stamped return address envelopes. Please complete your survey and return it in the envelope provided to SIRA, PO Box 70, Church Point, 2105 by Monday 26 March 2007. It is essential that we receive back as many surveys as possible so that we can demonstrate we speak with one strong voice. The surveys are confidential and neither Council nor the Lands Department will see the raw data. The analyst will be Kerry Borthwick (Director of Quality of Working Life Pty Ltd and Secretary of SIRA). Data will be analysed to provide comprehensive information us with on traffic patterns and to tell us what YOU think about our Issues and Options. If you have any questions please contact Shar Jones of SIRA: sharjones@optusnet.com.au (mob: 0438 299 148); Michael Wiener of WPCA: m2wiener@bigpond.net.au (mob: 0413 396 080) or Kerry Borthwick of SIRA and Quality of Working Life Pty Ltd: qwl_kborthwick@hotmail.com (landline: 9999 4092)." |
