Welcome to June 2015…A new month of experiences and the midway point of the year. Time appear to be moving very rapidly but it’s not time that is changing, it is our perception of time that is shifting. Over the past few weeks our focus has been on revisiting old business thanks to Mercury retrograding until June 11th. Fortunately, some mentally stimulating news arrives on June 2nd when an inspiring Sagittarius Full Moon could provide a snap shot of the big picture ahead.
This picture maybe a bit hazy though as retrograde Mercury will be opposing this lunation along with foggy Neptune. On the bright side, adventurous Jupiter and unpredictable Uranus will be favorably aligning to this Full Moon helping to provide some added motivation for change. Sagittarius is mutable fire, the sign of broad knowledge -- the kind that connects the dots. This is very, very empowering, and allows you to consider new and surprising possibilities. A Sagittarius Full Moon brings together the lively curiosity of Gemini (Sun) and the sharp instincts of Sagittarius (Moon). So be watchful for prophetic dreams, and note the serendipity in waking life.
A few days later on June 5th, lovely Venus enters prideful Leo and
begins to shine in elegant glory. Talk about Love and Romance! Leo is big and bold and loves applause, so when Venus is here, we start wanting to get out of the cocoon and into the lime light. Romance and having fun become the main interest. Shopping for luxurious, tasteful things fits right in too. Just watch out for too much of a good thing. Leo energy can be overwhelming in the beginning, but it often fizzles at the end.
Relief from confusion arrives on June 11th when Mercury finally turns direct in cerebral Gemini. After three weeks of misunderstanding and cloudy thoughts we can start getting back to thinking straight and talking like mad. Undoubtedly, the phone will be ringing again, too. You should finally be able to get the right words out of your mouth to describe whatever you've been mulling over in your mind during the retrograde period which lead up to today's change of direction. If you've been able to avoid making any decisions on important things during that time, you can be fairly confident that now is the time to make them.
Deep psychological thinking returns on June 14th when taskmaster Saturn retrogrades back into passionate Scorpio for one last visit. When Saturn backs into Scorpio, there is a little unfinished business to attend to in the area of releasing old resentments and letting ourselves open up and share our deep feelings of love. Letting go of deep feelings and emotional attachments can be a painful, but necessary step in our spiritual evolution. This short period is a time for the final cleaning up and clearing up of any residual negative or angry emotions relating to your current transformation or to issues of letting go that you haven't quite resolved yet.
We’ll get a chance to look at the world in a whole new way on June 16th as the New Moon represents an opportunity either to start something new or to refresh an area of our lives. Occurring in the sign of Gemini, in the close company of Mars, this New Moon suggests an urge for us to undertake new roads. And, in order to succeed at the end of the day, we need to bring with us all the necessary resources in the luggage along the way. The Sun, the Moon and Mars forming a triple conjunction, and Mercury going direct again in Gemini, all of them provide us with several indications about what the “luggage” must consist in so that to be helpful.
Our home and family life becomes much more important on June 21st when the radiant Sun moves into sensitive Cancer. During this annual transit we watch the birds as they carry twig after twig to their chosen site and build a nest where they can bring their babies into the world. This is instinctive behavior, built upon many seasons of repetition. In Cancer, the Sun’s ego-centered energy combines with the reflective, hidden energy of Luna. The past is important to Cancer, as is the concept of nurturing – both self and others. Cancer is a cardinal water sign, ruled by the Moon, meaning that it is active, yet runs on emotions. Think about the ocean and the tremendous depth of the water. Yet the power of the Moon pulls that water from one side of the earth to the other as she moves through the night sky. The songs of the whales cry mournfully through the deep for miles and miles. Our innermost feelings and need for compassion are no less mournful.
However, we begin to feel very restless on June 24th when mighty Mars enters the watery realm of Cancer. Mars is all about being assertive, forceful, competitive, and active. It's the force that puts us in motion and gets us what we want. When that energy moves into the sign of Cancer, an intuitive sign that runs on emotion, you may not have a clue what it is you are trying to get, but you're darn well going to get it! It's sort of like punching your way out of a gunny sack. By nature, Cancer is not all that assertive, but this is a combination that can give us tremendous energy to build our own nest and move toward what we feel we need. Don't be surprised to find yourself spending a lot of time cleaning and fixing and building things around the house.
