Native Plant Conservation Campaign News: K-12 Endangered species art contest open for submissions until March 1!
Do you know an artistic K-12 student who is passionate about plants, wildlife and endangered species? We have just the contest for them!
The Saving Endangered Species Youth Art Contest is a part of our annual
Endangered Species Day celebration. The contest is open to any student in kindergarten through 12th grade residing in the United States. It is a perfect opportunity for students to demonstrate their artistic talents while learning more about imperiled species.
Students can create artwork depicting species that either live in or migrate through the United States and its waters, or a plant/flower that is found in the United States, and has been placed on the threatened or endangered species list.
We receive impressive and inspiring artwork every year from students around the country and are grateful for every submission. Each entry represents time and attention that a young person has invested into learning about a species that interests them and portraying it through their art.
The grand prize winning entry earns the artist that created it an expense-paid trip to our nation's capital with a parent or guardian where they will be recognized at an award ceremony, meet their congressperson or their staff, and have time to see the city's landmarks and monuments.
Entries must be received by March 1st, 2019.
