Important Road Works on Scotland Island Information

You will be pleased to know that we
have finally had funds available for roadworks on the island and this
will start towards the end of the month. The works will involve three
sections of road :
- Thompson Street -
Harold St. to Cecil St.( approx. 360m)
- Thompson Street -
Florence Terrace to Pathilda Reserve (No.14 Thompson Street)-
approx. 380m
- Cecil Street - The
impassable to be rendered useable.

FAQ's:
- Who's doing the work? -
Thompson St. will be done by a Company called Stabilised Pavements
Australia together with Council resources. The Cecil St.contract is
being negotiated.
- What will they be doing? -
Trimming profile with adjacent table drain,stabilising the road
in-situ before applying a single coat flush seal. (Similar to the
existing sealed sections of road.)
- When will work start? -
Programme start date is Tuesday 22 Feb. (all going well with weather
and tides.)
- How long will it take? - One to
two weeks.
- Why just this section?- Main
loop road adjudged a priority for now. It is planned to do more in
the next financial year.
