Important Road Works on Scotland Island Information

From Pittwater Council

You will be pleased to know that we have finally had funds available for roadworks on the island and this will start towards the end of the month. The works will involve three sections of road :

  1. Thompson Street - Harold St. to Cecil St.( approx. 360m)
  2. Thompson Street - Florence Terrace to Pathilda Reserve (No.14 Thompson Street)- approx. 380m
  3. Cecil Street  - The impassable to be rendered useable.

Any questions can be directed to the Pavements Supervisor - Leon Hansen on 9970 1346.
    FAQ's:
  • Who's doing the work? - Thompson St. will be done by a Company called Stabilised Pavements Australia together with Council resources. The Cecil St.contract is being negotiated.
  • What will they be doing? - Trimming profile with adjacent table drain, stabilising the road in-situ before applying a single coat flush seal. (Similar to the existing sealed sections of road.)
  • When will work start? - Programme start date is Tuesday 22 Feb. (all going well with weather and tides.)
  • How long will it take? - One to two weeks.
  • Why just this section?- Main loop road adjudged a priority for now. It is planned to do more in the next financial year.
