Romans 8:31-32 What, then, shall we say in response to this? If God is for us, who can be against us? He who did not spare his own Son, but gave him up for us all-- how will he not also, along with him, graciously give us all things?

A GOOD MORNING

Good morning everyone! How would you rate today on a scale from 1-10? It depends on your perspective, your point of view, doesn't it? If you consider the weather and like cool sunshine, then you might rank today as an 8. However, if you look at other things such as the head cold you're fighting or the work you need to get done, you may see today as only a 5. Our personal perspective is often very nearsighted. We base it on what we see and know at the time. As a result we may end up with a completely wrong impression of the big picture. How many times has a parent, spouse, teacher or friend given you a better perspective by pointing out things you didn't see or think about?

Would you like a fresh perspective not only for today, but for all of life and beyond? Jesus gives it to us in His Word. He tells us that things are even worse than we might imagine, for sin has infected all mankind and every corner of God's creation. We can't undo it or cure it. It not only is the source of unhappiness here, it brings eternal death and punishment.

But above all, Jesus fills our lives with fresh hope by showing us that He is the answer to sin. He was holy in our place. His righteousness is our standing now before God. He suffered the full punishment we deserved, so that now there is no condemnation for those who look to Him in faith.

How would you rate today? In the risen Christ, we have a fresh, brighter view of today, for He has rescued us from sin and given us new life and purpose. As Paul writes: "If God is for us, who can be against us? He who did not spare his own Son, but gave him up for us all--how will he not also, along with him, graciously give us all things?" (Romans 8:31-32).
