In many areas, visiting a veterinarian isn't as convenient as it used to be. If you find you can't get in for non-emergency care, you may find this video helpful when you must give your precious kitties certain treatments they might need.

 Did You Know?

Between 30%-50% of cats lack the gene that makes them react to catnip.

If your cat does possess the gene, it expresses itself between 3-6 months of age; a kitten any younger will show no signs, one way or the other.

The Kitty Times Has Moved!

I just relocated from Nebraska to Arizona last month, but just as I wished you a smoth transition with no glitches, my life has had to navigate a few of them anyway.  It still should not affect you, however. Here's the usual newsletter, with the latest articles I could find.

Best Music For Cats

Through my years of rescuing cats and transporting them to various destinations... the shelter, the veterinarian, a new home, etc. ... I discovered the best music to play on the radio was classical. However, now that the subject has been studied a bit, there has been some interesting music specifically composed for cats. I haven't had an opportunity to test this out myself, so if you have time to check out the sample played at the link below, let me know how your cat reacted. Mine still enjoy classical so far.

CDC Guidelines to keep your pets safe from COVID-19
(How worried about this should you be? Sorry for the repeat.)

As of now, the CDC says there is “no evidence” that pets play a role in spreading COVID-19 in the U.S. However, the agency acknowledges there’s a lot that scientists still don’t know at the moment. “Further studies are needed to understand if and how different animals, including pets, could be affected,” the guidelines say.
