This week's Star Picture was sent in by Andrew Wood and is another image taken on his iPhone. The image gained Andrew an acceptance in the recent Swansea International - it just goes to prove you don't need several grand's worth of kit to take winning pictures!

Don't wait for me to ask you for pictures, just send them and I will try to include them in a future edition of BPS in Focus.

Santa is looking for Photographers
|
Santas on the Run - this is an event organised by Children's Hospice Southwest on 15 December. They are looking for volunteer photographers to cover the event for them. As far as I can tell all the participants will be dressed as Santa (and there's me still thinking there's only one!), they will run (or walk!) around a 2k route starting at the Lloyds Amphitheatre and heading off around the Harbourside, through Millennium Square where there will be a cheer point for spectators. They'll then run around the central fountains on St Augustine’s Parade where there’ll be another cheer point and its then back to the Amphitheatre.
If you think you can help, could you please contact Emma McKeown at the Hospice for further details.

Garden Stories, Hidden Labours an exhibition by Amanda Harman. The exhibition is made up of photographs taken around the glasshouses, potting sheds and scullery at Tyntesfield. These photographs make visible the unseen and often unsung work of the gardeners, revealing the hidden stories of the gardens and those who tend them.
Now - Fri 28 Feb 2014
10am - 4pm in the Piggery,
Tyntesfield, Wraxall, Bristol, BS48 1NX

Neil McCoubrey is one of the winners in the September round of the RPS Members Monthly Photo Competition, the theme was Interiors. The image is one of the series Neil took when he was recording the behind the scenes work at Tyntesfield and is reproduced below.
If you want to blow your own trumpet (or someone else's), then this is the place to do it. Please let me know and I'll include details in a future issue.
