X90-OPUS Download Tool Update (B9205)

The download tool for the X90-OPUS, X900+ and X91+ has been updated to address a few issues:

  • Updated support for RTX submissions (older tool versions fail to process in RTX.)

  • Updated support for customers with a mix of X90-OPUS, X900S-OPUS, X900+ and X91+ receivers.

  • Dedicated button to allow us to remotely assist you via the internet.

If you don't use RTX, and you don't have a mix of X9 receivers (X90-OPUS, X91+, X900+) then you don't need to update.

If you choose to update, this [ > link < ] will take you directly to the latest tool and includes detailed instructions.

X900S-OPUS (Pre-Announcement) and SALE! on X90-OPUS for Existing Owners

The X90-OPUS receiver is nearly two-years old! In a few months we will announce an updated version of the X90-OPUS receiver, the 'X900S-OPUS'. This new receiver has a few enhancements:

  • Tracks GLONASS (Russian) and BeiDou (Chinese) in addition to GPS (USA) satellite constellations

  • Slightly smaller head

  • 50% better battery life

Everything else: the thumb-drive interface, X9 Download Tool, carry case, batteries, chargers, download cable, case shape, buttons, memory, LED's and battery compartment door remains exactly the same. The price of the new receiver will be 6.9% ($168) more: $2,618.

Why track GLONASS and BeiDou? OPUS does not currently use GLONASS or BeiDou satellites so the new receiver will not have any advantage when processed using NGS's OPUS product. There is a chance that NGS OPUS will someday utilize the GLONASS constellation.

However, other online tools, like RTX, utilize GLONASS and BeiDou today. GLONASS and BeiDou will shorten occupation times when multiple devices are manually processed outside of OPUS. Occupations collected under moderate canopy and processed outside of OPUS may have better reliability.

X90-OPUS receivers are still available!

We understand that there may be a small advantage to your having matched receivers and we are offering existing X90D-OPUS receiver owners an 18% discount ($2020) until we run out. This offer is for current X90 owners only and includes 3-day shipping anywhere in the United States.

The All-in-One RTK Pair

Quality – Support – Price: you can have all three!

18-months ago I designed and released the X90-OPUS static GPS receiver to the survey market. The X90 dropped the price of dual frequency static receivers from over $7,000 to $2,450.

The X90-OPUS is a big deal because it has a small price.

There is a saying “Quality, Support and Price: pick two, but you can’t have all three.”

Hopefully after purchasing an X90 from us you know that it absolutely is possible to provide the highest quality product, with the best service and support at a ground breaking price.

For the last 18-months, I have been working on the next big thing in GPS survey. A rugged full featured RTK Base - Rover pair with top-of-line performance.

Just like before, the big deal is the small price:

$12,524 for a complete RTK Base / Rover pair

$1,648 for a great data collector with Carlson SurvCE and pole brackets

that's $14,172 for a complete RTK Pair w/ Data Collector

This is the 'real-deal'; you have my word on it!
