10 years ago, in October and November of the year 2000, I photographed the first 40 classic automobiles for the ClassicarGarage sales collection. One of these first photo days, October 25 2000, is remembered lively. After a week of very bad weather we had planned to photograph nine classic cars at Altena Classic Service on the first dry day. That day the weather was windy, cloudy and quite dry. Photographing the first car the wind grew to a serious storm. I could not take a sharp picture anymore. Even using a tripod the wind was pounding heavy blurred images. Ultimately Jan Altena and his fellow worker Rolf transformed into human storm shields for hours and all cars were photographed succesfully!
Now, ten years and far over 2000 tested and photographed classic cars later, I can still recall every photo day; the weather, the cars, the experiences. Most of all the pleasant and passionate teamwork with the people at the garages. That is very special and I hope that you as a client or visitor share the same experience. Today the passion for quality classic cars is fired up by 24 fantastic classic automobiles which I present in this newsletter. All cars were added to our sales collection recently. Enjoy the beautiful Alfa Romeo's, Austin Healey's, Jaguars, Porsches, Triumphs, Volvo's, a delightful Mercedes-Benz 190 SL and an impressive 1928 Rolls-Royce Phantom I open tourer.
