Hello Firstname
Wednesday 26 September
This Wednesday is the opening of the new season of BPS Competitions with Round 1 of the Projected Image Competitions. This week the judge is Pete McCloskey FRPS; Pete is a very experienced judge and sits on various advisory panels for the RPS, he has a very relaxed style of judging and is always most constructive in his comments: so an evening well worth attending whether you have entries in or not.

News In Brief
Free Exhibition Space
A new café has just opened a new Cafe Bar in Bedminster and is looking for local artists work to go on their walls. They have already exhibited work by Andrew Varcoe from the Grant Bradley gallery, selling a number of his pieces. They offer commission free space and high footfall. If you are interested in exhibiting at the café, please contact the owners directly.

Pictures From The Fifties
The following has been received from ITN Productions. If you are interested, please contact them directly.

Dear Ms Sykes

I am writing from ITN in London where we are making a film called The Coronation in Colour.

The documentary will be looking at the way we lived in the early 1950s against the back drop of the Coronation. We will cover life in the early 50s but also News events and we are telling the story purely in colour footage and stills.

We are therefore looking to find collectors and enthusiasts with 1950s colour film archive and photographs. as well as filmmakers from the time. I see that you are a camera club creating photographs in 2012 but do you have members interested in still from the 1950s or anyone who might have images from this time? Would this be something that you would be happy to talk to me about?

My number is 07736 681 236 if you are happy to ring me, I will call you back at your convenience.

Thank you very much indeed.

Kind Regards, Emma

Trumpet Blowers' Corner
Last week I was obviously demob happy before setting off on my hols. In last week's report on BPS successes in the Northern Counties International Salon there were three errors: firstly I omitted to mention that Patsy Southwell gained 2 acceptances in the print sections of the exhibition, well done Patsy and sorry for the omission and secondly I miscounted the number of acceptance Graham Baines gained, he in fact had 3 acceptances and not 2 as reported and thirdly (and hopefully finally!) Andrew Wood also had an acceptance.

If you want to blow your own trumpet or, dare I say such a thing, blow someone else's trumpet for them, then this is the place to do it. Please let me know and I'll include it in the next issue.
