“fragile and gorgeously pastoral anthems” Vice
‘Sian Alice Group have destroyed the myth that at the moment only our Stateside cousins are capable of producing genuinely innovative music that defies classification’ Drowned in Sound (8/10)
"One of the most underrated bands in the whole world." - TIME OUT NY
"While many of their more forward-thinking compatriots transcend the odd genre or two, Sian Alice Group simply confound categorisation in any way, shape or form. Troubled, Shaken Etc. is a deftly-secured trove of deeply hidden treasures, that once discovered, will be hard to resist." - Drowned In Sound (8/10)
“This London collective’s emboldened second suggests new paths to transcendence.” - Uncut (****)
“Troubled, Shaken Etc. is one of the more complete albums you’ll hear this year.” Clash Magazine (8/10)
"Sian Alice Group create mood songs as discrete units, each as bulletproof - or smudgeproof - as the band itself." Spin
“Troubled, Shaken Etc. is an album: paced, sequenced, structured, and produced as such. Its utterly lovely, feminine, and subtly adventurous. The listener is given a soft, quiet, sonic bedroom and allowed to dwell in there, a mental place where time is suspended and the outside world vanishes entirely, for close to an hour.” – All Music Guide
"The rock aesthetes in Sian Alice Group have a fetish for tones and textures, from electronic pulses and Velvets-like riffs to scratched guitar strings, which they tweak, layer, and slowly fade throughout." - XLR8R
“Troubled, Shaken Etc. resembles a kaleidoscope. Ambient 70s soundscapes easily transmute into four-to-floor techno raves and interweave and lock into hypnotic arpeggios.” – Under The Radar
