Well... the Holiday Season has begun.
I don't know about you but I havent even begun my shopping yet! Between being away for ~two weeks in Houston for the Market & Festival, along with being tied up getting ready for these shows & catching up afterward, I actually haven't even touched my sewing machine since early October, which honestly makes me CRAZY!
All this, coupled w/major family issues means I probably won't get back to work on our next pattern for another week or so, which is rather frustrating, so while I keep ticking things off of my list, please enjoy this issue of "Bag Making is Fun", which features an important annoucements about our 4th Annual Advent Calendar Sale which starts TOMORROW & also our "Holiday Bag Sample Sale", back after a 2 year hiatus and currently scheduled for Monday Dec 4th, 2023!

So... Don Distler's been on a bit of a tare lately, and here's his latest, a Festival Pocket Belt that totally exudes "attitude"! As usual, his work is perfection!

Becky Hausmann says she's in love with the Sling Along design. She's made 6 so far
and has MORE requests coming! I love your rendition Becky!

And here's another Sling Along by Becky Hausmann who describes this design as the perfect bag for both travel & everyday use! We'll be featuring several other of Becky's creations in future Eye Candy Showcases!

Adrianna Carter said that she's on a Go-Go Compact sewing binge declaring
that once she made one Go-Go Compact she just couldn't stop!

 And the proof is in the pudding because here's yet anotherof Adriana's Go-Go's. There's a few more coming in January,
but next up for this gal is a Gemini Flightbag! Can't wait to see it!

And Raewyn Simpson bravely chose cork for her Sling Along! She said she loves using cork, as well as our patterns, but did find that using it
for the binding for this bag was very challenging! It turned out gorgeous!

Here's another in a series of Sling Along creations by Becky Hausmann. I totally appreciate Becky's fabric choice and placement of the focal print! Great job Becky! Your work is amazingly artistic!

And this Sling Along by Becky Hausmann seems to combine texture, with strategically placed embroidery for a totally unique bag that would appeal to almost anyone!

New Fabric Alert!- Attention Cat Lovers! |

Today we're featuring another new fabric we procured while at the International Quilt Market a few weeks ago.
There was a new Brazilian Fabric Company represented and he was selling large fabric packs to introduce himself to the Market. I picked up a few packs of this fabric (at left) and also another which you can see by clicking HERE. I don't have lots but we're packing up what we have in 1/2 yard cuts

Back by popular request & coming SOON (on Monday, Dec 4th) is our Holiday Sample Bag Sale where we throw open our closets & offer you some fantastic deals on sample bags that will no longer be traveling with us to road shows. Each bag is a ONE-OF-A-KIND StudioKat Designs original made by me!
In order to make sure that access to the sale bags is fair for everyone across the US time zones, this sale will start on Monday, Dec 4th at 1PM EST.
The sale will begin when we publish a Blog post describing the bags that are for sale this year. It's pretty unusual to hear of a book whose subject matter is all about sewing, but there's one about to be published on Dec, 15th called, "The Point of the Needle: Why Sewing Matters" by Barbara Burman. It celebrates not only sewing’s recent resurgence but the creativity of sewist's, their creativity, well-being, and community. Ms. Burman chronicles new voices of people who sew today, by hand or machine, to explore what they sew, what motivates them, what they value, and why they mend things.

So...our Show Season may be over for 2023, but that doesn't mean that we're not thinking ahead to the shows we'll be attending in 2024!
And you never know, there may be a 2024 show that is easily within driving distance of YOU bacause some shows actually move their locale from year-to-year! (For example, Quilt Con will be held in Raleigh, NC this year!)
