Psalm 107:21-29 Oh, that men would give thanks to the LORD for His goodness, And for His wonderful works to the children of men! They cry out to the LORD in their trouble, And He brings them out of their distresses. He calms the storm, So that its waves are still.
THE LORD'S PROTECTION
We give thanks to the Lord because He protects us from harm and danger. Perhaps some would say, "The Lord doesn't protect us. Where was His protection when Hurricane Katrina broke upon New Orleans? Where has He been in other disasters and troubles? Where has He been while children are being shot at school?" Why He allowed those things I do not know. But I know that the Lord does protect us. How many more times could similar events have taken place and they haven't? You ask why young people die in car crashes, but I ask why do so many walk away unscathed? I do not know all the ways or plans of God, but I do know that we would have destroyed ourselves long ago without Him. Therefore we give thanks to the Lord for His protection from harm and danger.
