In The News...

Check out this great advice from Lori in her most recent Dayton Daily News Articles:
Know The Facts...

Unnecessary paperwork in the workplace causes offices to look cluttered and reduces productivity. If you’re constantly looking through outdated papers to get to the ones you need or unable to put your legs under your desk because boxes of paperwork have taken over, it’s time to figure out what you really need to be saving.

Ask your employer for a Records Retentions Schedule. This list will give you guidelines on which papers to save and those that can be recycled or shredded.

If your company doesn’t have a schedule, it’s time to meet with your accountant to create one.

The Party's Over...

Many of you buy themed paper goods when hosting a party. Birthdays, baby showers and holidays come and go, but you hang on to those few napkins or paper cups that didn’t get used at the party. You keep adding to the stockpile after each party and your collection continues to grow. This takes up valuable storage in your cabinets and pantry.

Unless you recycle these at future parties, stop saving them and start using them up right after the party for family dinners or lunch boxes.

One Last Thing...

January is officially National Get Organized Month. No surprise since getting organized is one of the top New Year’s Resolutions many people make.

I came across this quote from Peter Walsh, “Everything in your home should reflect your vision for the life you want.”   It reminds us that before you can get organized, you first have to think about the goals you have for this year. Then you must pare down and surround yourself with those things that are going to help you reach your goals.

It really is that simple. Stop letting your emotional attachment to things stop you from leading the life you deserve.

Make 2015 your most organized year yet and watch what happens in your work and personal life.

I’m rooting for you…
