FEBRUARY 2017
January was a top-notch start to the year. The sold-out Lewes Psychedelic Festival has really kicked things off for us. It's always a pleasure to have such interesting bands perform in the historic All Saints Centre. From the likes of psych-dub-jazz Liverpudlian's Fever Dream to the audio-visual phantasmagorical Sculpture, there was something for everyone. You can conitnue the psych journey with us with out very special new Folkestone Psychedelic Festival, including the likes of Josefin Öhrn + The Liberation and Vanishing Twin.
Barry Hyde @ Komedia (Studio) •• 09.02.17
Responsible for some of the biggest indie anthems of the past decade, Futureheads frontman Barry Hyde is performing an intimate solo set at Komedia Brighton.
Those familiar with his work with The Futureheads may be expecting new wave inspired, four-part harmony, guitar music, but recent album Malody couldn’t be further away from that. The album is based around Hyde’s first instrument, the piano, and also features violin, cello, double bass, tenor and baritone sax, pedal steel and trumpet.
“Beautifully orchestrated” - Louder Than War
“Soothing and challenging, euphoric and moving, ‘Malody’ is a deeply personal work” - Clash
“Distinctive vocals and an ear for a catchy melody” - Faded Glamour
