The dinner, MC’ed by entertainer Kagiso Lediga, will be addressed by South Africa’s Minister of Tourism, Derek Hanekom. Model and actress Shashi Naidoo will also share her experience of travelling to Palestine - which resulted in Israel banning her for 10 years (click here for an article by columnist Fred Khumalo). Finally, the evening will include a photo exhibition by acclaimed photographer Lee-Roy Jason.

The event will mark the 2018 United Nations International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People and the 100 year centenary of Nelson Mandela, who famously said : “our freedom is incomplete without the freedom of the Palestinians.”
