Dear Friends,

As COVID-19 becomes a major concern for many, we at Dance Parade New York are working with the New York City authorities to continue to plan a safe and healthy parade and festival.  At this time we are not canceling our event scheduled for Saturday May 16th

Over the next three weeks, we will be monitoring closely the pandemic and will post further updates should the coronavirus be a threat to the safety of Dance Parade’s audience and participants.

We are cautiously optimistic that when it comes to disease transmission, it’s safer outside than inside and some theorize that the virus will suceed in the warmer Spring weather similar to influenza. That said, we advise folks to avoid large crowds, wash hands frequently and keep immune levels strong by reducing stress and eating, sleeping and exercising at adequate levels.

With regard to our dance residencies in schools and community centers, current classes are continuing on an as needed basis and all new classes will be postponed until April.

For the latest information and best practice guidelines, we encourage you to visit DOHMH’s website at https://www1.nyc.gov/site/doh/health/health-topics/coronavirus.page  These can also be found on the DOHMH website in several languages.  You can also text COVID to 692-692 for updates as well.

Sincerely,
