Dear Friend of PST,  We hope that you will join us for our July show, which not only finishes up our season, but also wraps up our time at Hipbone Studio. It's been a good run... we offer a special heartfelt thanks to Jeff Burke for his support, friendship, and collaborations with  Portland Story Theater.

In this issue
New York, New York!

We're hitting the Big Apple this summer with two performances of 33⅓, a Duet, the Long-Play Version

First stop is the Open Source Gallery. They started  producing a storytelling series this year, curated by poet and playwright Terence Degnan. Each show presents four stories that reveal pivotal experiences in the tellers' lives. Lynne and Lawrence are slated to share a segment of 33⅓ on July 31st at 7PM at the gallery in Brooklyn.

We've also been invited by curator and host, Robin Bady, to celebrate the one-year anniversary of the Bady House Story Concerts (BHSC#12) on the evening of August 3. We will perform 33⅓ in its entirety. Robin performed with Portland Story Theater in 2007 as part of Licking The Plate and we're delighted to be part of this anniversary show.

Alberta Abbey, home of Portland Story TheaterWe launch our 10th season this September, and all our Portland shows will be in our new home, Alberta Abbey, just two blocks west of MLK at 126 NE Alberta Avenue.

This place has it all: fabulously comfortable seats, ADA accessibility, off-street parking, capacity for more than 300, and a beautiful adjoining lounge area where we can serve refreshments, including beer and excellent wine from Hip Chicks Do Wine.

But the best part is that the Alberta Abbey and Portland Story Theater are joining forces to build a vibrant performance space together. It's going to be great and you're going to be a part of it all as the story continues at the Alberta Abbey!
Coming into the home stretch of our 2013-2014 season, it's Urban Tellers! This promises to be a memorable and historic show as we bid a fond farewell to Hipbone, our beloved home for the last seven seasons. That’s right, this is the final show at Hipbone, and how better to mark the occasion than to have Jeff Burke, Hipbone’s proprietor and a great friend of Portland Story Theater, in the lineup for the evening? You'll hear stories about sawed-off shotguns,   astrocartography, back-biting behavior, even potatoes in the washing machine … all woven together into a potent blend of vulnerability and heart. This is story theater that is exhilarating, energizing, empowering.

Featuring: Daniel LaForce, Steve Parker, Angela Bailey, Beth Weissman, Phillip Schlachter, and Hipbone's own Jeff Burke.
