October's Memory Verse
Acts 5:12
Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.

- "Tiny" Faith! -
Matthew 17:20, "...If ye have faith as a grain of mustard seed...."

A dear lady that had trusted the Lord Jesus as her personal Saviour lay on her death bed and said to me, "Pastor Leatherman, I don't know that I have enough faith."

I read her the passage quoted above and assured her that it is not the amount of our faith, but the object of our faith that is important. Of course, God continually challenges us to exercize and grow in our faith, but even "tiny" faith can accomplish great things.
  • "TINY" FAITH CAN SAVE A SOUL FROM A LIFE OF SIN AND AN ETERNITY IN HELL.
(Ephesians 2:8-9) A person with small, weak faith in Jesus goes to Heaven and the one with great, strong faith in their own works ends up in Hell.
  • "TINY" FAITH CAN QUENCH SATAN'S ATTACKS.
(Ephesians 6:6) Again, it is not the amount of our faith that defeats our enemy, Satan, but the object of our faith, the Lord Jesus, that overcomes our enemy. We must take what tiny, weak faith we have and put it squarely on the Lord and He will conquer our enemy.
  • "TINY" FAITH CAN SECURE GREAT ANSWERS TO PRAYER.
(Mark 9:23) The Lord does not qualify the amount of faith necessary for God to operate on our behalf, but He does make clear that our faith must be in Him.
(Proverbs 3:5-6) Tiny faith in the Lord can secure His direction and protection in my life. Great faith in my own understanding secures defeat and failure.
  • "TINY" FAITH, WHEN EXERCIZED, BECOMES GREATER FAITH.
(1 Samuel 17:33-36) When David exercised the faith in God to slay a lion and a bear, his faith was strengthened to slay the giant, Goliath.
I must take whatever faith I have and put it completely in the Lord Jesus Christ for my salvation, my spiritual victory and my Christian service and God will honor that faith. As I learn to continually have faith in God, I will see my faith grow and develop to greater faith.

Though things have quieted down around MLIBC for the next week of two, we want to be diligent and consistent in our witnessing, soul winning and daily walk with God.

This Sunday morning I am preaching on, "The Land Of Forgetfulness" and in the evening we're continuing our series from the book of James with a message entitled, "What To Do With A Mirror."

Our Master Clubs got off to a great start this past Wednesday and we look forward to God using this effort to disciple our young people. Please pray for all our youth workers as they give of themselves to guide our youth to love the Lord, trust Him, live for Him and serve Him.

Please mark your calendars for our Annual Thanksgiving Youth Conference held here at the church on Saturday, November 1. Brother Charlie Clark and Brother Lee Bowman will be preaching.

Follow us on Facebook or Twitter to keep up with what is happening around here and, please check out our website at www.mlibc.org.

Bring your Bible and a friend and I'll be looking for you Sunday!

Sincerely, your friend,
