NEWS FOR CAT LOVERS
===================================

Did you know Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher
had a cat? A rescued cat? She said she adored
animals, but couldn't have any while her husband
was alive. She found one at a shelter that was
older, but sadly, she had to give him to a friend
when she was no longer able to care for him after
only a few years.

Here is the story:

It will be interesting to see how long this lasts.
A new TV show that debuted Saturday (April 20)
is about people who spoil their pets... as in, over
the top spoiling. Outrageous spoiling. Like, dancing
classes, sessions with psychics, expensive clothing.

Meet the ‘Spoiled Rotten Pets.’ The first 6 shows
have been scheduled, so keep an eye on your local
television schedule if you want to see it.

Chiropractic care for animals? Interesting article,
but I can tell you from experience, it works.

Our Amazing Cats, Vol. 2, book update:

As I reported last time, the book is still on schedule
to be released on time. There's still time for
something to go wrong, of course, but it's looking good
for May 15. Our Amazing Dogs will be released at the same
time.

I have enjoyed putting these together and having the
opportunity to read about everyone's wonderful pets
and the loving bonds that can grow between people and
their animals. It's heartwarming, to say the least.

When these are out, they will be available at Amazon.com.
I wholeheartedly recommend getting a copy...or more, to
share with friends and family.

CAT FOOD NEWS
===================================

If you know someone who has to choose between paying
the bills or feeding a pet, you may wish to tell them
about this new program: Pet Food Stamps!

A group of donors based in New York created a program
which distributes the food through PetFlow.com, but only
to needy pet owners in the U.S.

Once the need is verified (applicants must fill out a
form online), petfood is shipped monthly for 6 months.

Apply at http://www.petfoodstamps.org. But be patient; it can
take up to 6 weeks to get a response. Needless to say,
this program is overwhelmed with applications in these
difficult economic times.

Be sure to visit the site even if you don't need free
food. There is a beautiful little slide show!

TAKE ACTION TO HELP ANIMALS IN NEED
===================================

How to help the animals:

1. http://www.hipaws.com/help.html
Help feed the ones that never got adopted.

2. Always remember to check with your local shelter
to see what they need. Your donation will go directly
to the animals, in sharp contrast to some of the large
national groups, whose donation income goes toward
large administrative salaries and other expenses, not
necessarily for animals.

3. Buy my book if you haven't yet. Sales are used to
help support all the cats here. Thank you.

4. Sign this petition to save Tony the Tiger, stuck
in a concrete cage for 12 years at a truck stop:
