Folklore and Fairytales Come to Life on Dublin Tour

Extreme Ireland, the award winning experience-based Irish tour operator, today launched a brand new tour exploring Dublin’s rich folklore.

In keeping with the wave of renewed interest in the cultural history of Ireland, this tour has been developed to give people an adventure in Irish folklore that they won’t forget.

The experience begins the second passengers board the customised tour bus. Hand-painted to replicate a traditional Irish stone and thatch cottage, the bus features a cosy sitting room complete with fireplace.

Tour guides take on the character of a seanachaí, giving passengers an idea of how stories were shared before books were available to the ordinary people of Ireland.

The talented seanachaí entertains and informs tour passengers throughout the tour, which begins in Dublin’s College Green and ends at the Church Bar. The itinerary includes North Bull Island and St. Anne’s Park and includes a wide range of fascinating and entertaining stories from Irish mythology.

The stories go from the legend of the Fir Bolg, the Vikings, Irish Mermen, the Fianna and there’s even a sprinkling of leprechauns!

The Folklore and Fairytales tour is, above all, great craic for people of all ages and nationalities with any interest in Irish culture. To book you place call Extreme Ireland on 086 3169788 or visit www.extremeireland.ie.
