First edition of Hygienalia+Pulire: Excellent results

The Organizing Committee stresses the Professional Cleaning and Hygiene sector’s widespread acceptance which, for three days, has endorsed the trade fair held from 31st January to 2nd February at Feria Valencia/Spain with its presence.

The deputy director of Reed Exhibitions Iberia, Alberto Alonso, has assessed the quality and quantity of the professional visitors who attended HYGIENALIA+PULIRE, the Professional Cleaning and Hygiene Trade Fair, which took place at Feria Valencia from 31st January to 2nd February: “The three days the event lasted have been very intense because it was the first edition, which was conceived more than four years ago, and because of the uncertainty of accomplishing the objectives set out”. Along these lines, he stated that “the Organizing Committee’s mission has been accomplished with some 4,000 professional visitors attending (specifically 3,959), which is the figure that the Organizing Committee proposed”.

Likewise on the day of the official closure, Alonso highlighted “the quality” of the visitors and has underlined that, despite today’s economic climate, “everyone has considered the possibility of travelling and coming to Valencia to see the varied and absolutely representative supply from the whole professional cleaning and hygiene sector on show here”.

Thus, the visitors who came to this trade fair represented all the sectors, from distributors to cleaning services firms, without overlooking a large number of end customers, among which we find hotel and catering businesspeople, medical centres, training centres, hypermarkets and shopping malls, etc. All this is thanks to the efforts made by everyone involved in this project: exhibitors, partners, sectorial associations, the mass media, and the trade fair’s Organizing Committee.

Toni D’Andrea, Afidamp Servizi Managing Director, co-organizer of the event has highlighted two points to take in to consideration. The first is that Hygienalia+Pulire has taken place in a extremely difficult period for the domestic professional cleaning market – a section that registered in 2011 a 13 % decrease in sales against 2010 and a progressive contraction that has decreased sales of 32 % since 2007.
The second point to consider is the venue change from Madrid to Valencia resulted in a higher proportion of visitors from that region of Spain and less from the Madrid area. I believe it will take two editions to consolidate the good results of this year and decree Hygienalia+Pulire as the only B2b tradeshow of the sector in the Iberian Peninsula.

While the event took place, visitors stressed that “Hygienalia+Pulire has been well worthwhile” (a firm from the cleaning distributor sector in Madrid) and that “this trade fair has been well organized, had a quite complete supply and was also a good forum for making new contacts” (a firm interested in pure-water cleaning systems in Biscay). Besides, others came to “see how the laundry sector is doing”.
HYGIENALIA+PULIRE has become the best shop window to discover the latest novelties of the professional cleaning and hygiene sector in the Iberian Peninsula, and it can boast the participation of 138 exhibitors, of which 30 % came from abroad.
Finally, Leila Mansouri, the Hygienalia+Pulire trade fair coordinator was seen to be “optimistic” about the next edition of Hygienalia+Pulire and about accomplishing “the next edition being even more complete”. Similarly, she also added that “we have done the hardest part, launching this trade fair and opening its doors to the public”. She feels satisfied with the number of visitors “in terms of their quality and number”; besides, “the supply on show was interesting, which means that visitors want to return to the second edition”.

This trade fair has organized specific activities for the two sectors which offer fundamental value in the cleaning industry and which form part of the products with most demand: laundry and urban cleaning.

For this reason, the exhibition hall has included an area known as Zona ADV (the ADV Zone) where several firms have given demonstrations of specialized street/road cleaning machinery. Moreover, the Ist Professional Laundry Forum, an interesting encounter, took place with an exhibit area and technical conferences especially for this sector.

Moreover, HYGIENALIA+PULIRE has offered a full program of parallel acts, organized to offer attendees the chance to exchange knowledge and to extend information. To achieve this, the program addressed both exhibitors and professional visitors from a cross-sectional perspective.

In this way, this program covered themes like automotives, logistics and industry, the healthcare and pharmaceutical sector, HORECA, food, dry cleaning and laundry, the natural environment, plus other aspects of interest for the public, road/street cleaning and waste management sector, as well as for the geriatrics sector.
