Matthew 25:40 "The King will reply, 'I tell you the truth, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers of mine, you did for me.'"
HEIRS WITH CHRIST
One of the joys that will be ours on the great Resurrection Day will be to have Christ our King acknowledge the deeds of humble service we performed for the least of His brothers and sisters. The instances when we offered a helping hand to others as to Him, when we put the interests of others ahead of our own, when we treated others with kindness as Jesus did, when we exhibited a forgiving spirit towards those who have hurt us, as He did towards the evil men who nailed Him to the cross.
What joy will be ours when He acknowledges these faith-fruits ... these Holy Spirit worked expressions of love for Him who loved us first ... to hear Him say to us: "Come now, take your inheritance! The kingdom I prepared for you from the foundation from the world!"
Unbelievers who believe they need no Savior, who seek their own selfish interests, whose goal is merely to have other people think well of them, will hear something different from Jesus: "Depart from me into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels." But the ultimate exaltation awaits all who have anchored their hope in Him and have endeavored to glorify Him in their lives.
Then we'll sing our own Magnificat: "My soul glorifies the Lord and my spirit rejoices in God my Savior, for He has been mindful of the humble state of His servant. He has done great things for me!" We'll experience how true it is that the humble Christian is a person of worth, blessed beyond measure for Jesus' sake.
