Bingman’s Boondoggle is being Pushed Forward
What Part of Illegal does Anderson not Understand?
Who is twisting Senator Patrick Anderson’s arm? The long time opponent of the American Indian Cultural Center is now pushing a scheme to fund the debacle despite a host of problems with his financing scheme. Anderson is proposing to steal Indian gaming and tobacco revenue that is currently flowing into the state General Fund to complete the construction on the 170 million dollar money pit in Oklahoma City.
The project has been stalled for around two years after opposition to the unending demands for additional money for construction finally generated enough backpressure in the House to kill the attempt to steal 40 million from the Unclaimed Property Fund in 2014.
Anderson’s approach is to claim that the annual 28 million in Indian gaming and tobacco money would show “significant Indian money is going into the project.” Right, and I have a bridge to sell you if you are stupid enough to let that statement stand as true. Anderson is silent on how we go about replacing the missing 28 million, silent on which programs or departments receive less funding. Will it be roads and bridges? Corrections? Or Education that gets their budget slashed?
Anderson tries to hang a fig leaf on the idea by saying that no taxpayer dollars would be spent and that somehow stealing the money from the General Fund constitutes a “commitment from the tribes.”000
Oklahoma has poured over $71,000,000 into this fiasco so far along with $15,700,000 from the federal government and a measly $8,300,000 from the Indian tribes. And that meager amount was grudgingly given because the boondoggle will strip revenue from the Indian’s own cultural centers scattered around the state and from their casinos.
Proponents of the center claim they have 40 million dollars in private funding lined up waiting for additional state funding. Were they serious these donors would have kept the construction going while they set up long term loans to complete the construction. But they know well that the center will never generate enough revenue to self sustain much less begin paying back the nearly two hundred million dollars spent to construction the gold plated fiasco. The latest estimates show that between five and ten million dollars a year will be needed to subsidize the center even if attendance is excellent.
“This project is the epitome of government waste and demonstrates how easy it is for government officials to spend other people’s money without regard to cost,” said Anderson, R-Enid. “The leadership of this project has failed miserably and their failure certainly does not deserve to be rewarded with additional state funding. Walking away from this project may be a difficult pill to swallow, but it is time that we make a business decision on what is in the best interest of Oklahoma taxpayers. No private business would operate in this manner.”
The center is an excellent example of how Oklahoma politics works. Around 20% of the construction budget spent so far has been lavished on consultants. Why? Because the project was initially staffed with political appointees, payback for campaign donations or support in elections, leaving the center’s staff woefully lacking in experience in project management or museum administration. These clowns decided that the more expensive the cost the better quality the result, rejecting all of the lower cost alternatives at every phase of the project.
Anderson made it butt clear in his press release on just how inept the leadership of this center was:
“As the audit shows, when given the opportunity to choose less expensive options for the construction of this museum, project leaders chose to select the most expensive option – even though they knew they did not have adequate funding,” Anderson said. “One would think that with so much spent on consulting, the consultants themselves might have suggested a more financially sound way to complete the construction of this museum. The taxpayers of Oklahoma deserve better stewardship of their money than the leadership of this project has provided.”
So it is beyond obvious that Anderson believes bulldozing the center is the responsible thing to do or turning it over to Oklahoma City or the tribes and cutting our losses but how about the legality of his proposal to steal money from the Indian gaming and tobacco compact?
In 2004 Oklahomans voted to allow the state to enter a compact with the tribes to allow gaming and tobacco sales. For electronic games the state rakes in 4% of the first ten million in gross profit, 5% of the next ten million in gross profit, and 6% of the next ten million in gross profit. For card games the state receives 10% of the gross profit.
And of course if you read the original legislation the percentages were double what they are now, a classic example of passing a law using a vote of the people then watering it down in later years to benefit special interests.
was the legislation that formed the Indian gaming and tobacco compact and put the issue before the voters in 2004. The legislation was very specific on how the money was to be spent: Twelve percent (12%) of all fees received by the state pursuant to subsection A of Part 11 of the Model Tribal Gaming Compact set forth in Section 22 of this act shall be deposited in the Oklahoma Higher Learning Access Trust Fund, and eighty-eight percent (88%) of such fees shall be deposited in the Education Reform Revolving Fund.
Provided, the first Twenty Thousand Eight Hundred Thirty-three
Dollars and thirty-three cents ($20,833.33) of all fees received
each month by the state pursuant to subsection A of Part 11 of the
Model Tribal Gaming Compact set forth in Section 22 of this act
shall be transferred to the Department of Mental Health and
Substance Abuse Services for the treatment of compulsive gambling disorder and educational programs related to such disorder.
However, buried deep within the 52 page legislation on the Indian gaming compact was a part saying that the fees gathered were not earmarked despite the clear language above so it is going to take a lawsuit to stop Senator Anderson from raiding education funding. But the tobacco tax compact calls the tax a tax, not a exclusivity fee like in the Indian gaming compacts.
And where does that tax money go? Who will be injured if the money is stolen?
Oklahoma Policy Institute has some good research
on the Oklahoma tobacco tax. According to their research the first 23 cents of the $1.03 state tax on a pack of cigarettes goes to repay state bonds. Seventeen % t goes to the states general fund and 14% goes to the cities and counties to make up for lost sales tax revenue. Most of the rest is divided between seven health organizations.
Health Employee and Economy Improvement Act Fund to assist low-income employees buy into employer or public health insurance coverage (33.5 percent).
Trauma Care Assistance Fund to support emergency trauma care (11.4 percent).
The share of revenue going to this Fund was decreased in 2009 to 10.8 percent, with 0.6 percent now going to the Emergence Response System Fund.
Comprehensive Cancer Center Debt Service Fund for bond pay-ments on a new OU cancer center (4.7 percent);
OSU College of Medicine Fund for telemedicine and indigent care (4.7 percent);
Department of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services for adolescent substance abuse centers and services (4.0 percent);
Tobacco Prevention and Cessation Fund for anti-tobacco efforts (1.0 percent)
Breast and Cervical Cancer Treatment Fund to fund Medicaid coverage of cancer treatment (0.7 percent).
were made to various government departments in the legislation that put State Question 713 on the ballot
Here is the actual ballot language for SQ 713:
The measure ends sales tax on cigarettes and other tobacco products. The measure places a new tax on cigarettes. This tax will be 4 cents per cigarette. The measure places a new tax on other tobacco products. These taxes begin January 1, 2005.
Some monies from the new taxes will be given to state, county, and local government. Some monies from these taxes will be used for various health-related purposes. These purposes include health care, building a cancer center, trauma care, long-distance medical care, substance abuse, breast cancer, and aid to hospitals and ambulance services.
A committee is created to recommend rules regarding tobacco product taxes.
The measure provides penalties for Indian tribes that break tobacco tax compacts.
The measure makes several income tax changes. It makes the highest Method One individual income tax rate 6.65%. It increases the amount of certain retirement benefits not subject to income tax. It allows certain capital gains of an individual to not be subject to income tax.
The measure sets maximum income levels for individuals making claims under the Sales Tax Relief Act.
The measure makes other changes.
So both the Indian gaming compact money and the tobacco tax money was earmarked for specific purposes when sold to the Oklahoma citizens but now Senator Anderson wants to divert that money to a boondoggle in Oklahoma City that has the sole purpose of raising land values around the American Indian Cultural Center project so the tall building crowd can make millions of land development. A recent ruling by the Oklahoma Attorney General made it very clear that tax money that is collected for a specific purpose can’t be diverted to another use because Oklahoma’s Constitution specifically prohibits transfers of tax money collected for specific purposes.
Senate leadership has become more and more brutal and there is no doubt that Senator Anderson is being threatened. His choice is going to be between incurring further wrath from Senate leadership or getting a boot planted in his backside by conservative activists. As for what to do with the boondoggle project, put it up for auction with a condition that the museum be completed in some fashion although not to the gold plated standards envisioned by the existing board of the authority. Even better, bulldoze everything except the huge, honking pile of dirt and make that into a monument for governmental waste. However we do it we save $40,000,000 immediately and $10,000,000 per year for decades to come.
Once Again we get to say Rep. John Bennett was Right
The Council on American-Islamic Relations and the Muslim American Society scrambling for cover after being designated terrorist organizations by the United Arab Emirates.
The two U.S. based groups named alongside the Islamic State group, Al Qaeda and Muslim Brotherhood along with Muslim groups in Italy, Germany, Sweden, Norway, Finland, and Britain. In all 83 groups were listed by the UAE cabinet Saturday and was posted
by the official UAE news agency..
CAIR of course lashed out over the designation calling it “shocking and bizarre” asking to be removed from the list. CAIR once had a strangle hold over House and Senate leadership during the Speaker Kris Steele regime despite CAIR being an unindicted co conspirator in the Holy Land Foundation trial and being on the FBI black list of organizations they were unable to cooperate with.
The Muslim American Society also claimed to be “shocked” to find itself on the list. The Associated Press confirmed that other Muslim governments including Saudi Arabia and Egypt had listed the Muslim Brotherhood as a terror organization.
The link between Hamas and CAIR is what probably led to the designation as Hamas is closely linked to Muslim Brotherhood.
Regardless of the cause the UAE Cabinet sent out the list of terror organizations on November 15th in the following press release:
ABU DHABI, 15th November 2014 (WAM) — The UAE Cabinet has approved a list of designated terrorist organisations and groups in implementation of Federal Law No. 7 for 2014 on combating terrorist crimes, issued by President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, and the Cabinet’s own resolution on the designation of terrorist organisations that provided for the publication of the lists in the media for the purposes of transparency and to raise awareness in society about these organisations.

CAIR of course will continue to mislead the American public with the assistance of the news media as to their real purpose of implementing a worldwide Muslim caliphate. Those who expose CAIR’s real purposes will continue to be labeled as haters and islamaphobics until the Muslims have colonized enough territory and have bred enough Muslims thanks to generous social programs that allow a Muslim man to have multiple wives while donating large amounts to terror organizations like CAIR.
Political Correctness taken to an Absurd Degree
Imagine that your wife or teenage daughter is using a bathroom at a business only to see that a man has entered behind her and is staring at her or trying to peek into a bathroom stall. She screams for help, the manager arrives, the police are called, and a pervert who has no regard for other’s safety or feelings is promptly arrested and fined heavily.
Or the grandmother taking her five year old granddaughter to the local swimming pool watching a grown man walk into the locker room and stare at the girls and women showering or changing into their swimsuits. In outrage the grandmother shoves the pervert outside while screaming for help, authorities arrive and another pervert is arrested for breaking a law ensuring that everyone feels comfortable while using a restroom or locker room.
Pretty normal, huh? But in both cases it isn’t the pervert or sexual predator being arrested. It is the wife, the daughter, or the grandmother being arrested for expressing concern over their safety or that of the children.
American voters shouldn’t worry that they won’t get what they want but should worry that they will get what they deserve after the Cleveland City Council votes on a law that can lead to a $1,000 criminal fine for complaining about a person of the opposite sex using a male of female restroom. Any citizen that expresses concern, disgust, or discomfort or any business that expresses other customer’s uneasiness over a transgender using the wrong restroom can be fined. Local schools must also allow free choice of individuals to use the restroom of their choice.
The ordinance covers restrooms and locker rooms, with the Councilmen calling the ordinance needed to adjust to the trend of society. Councilmen supporting the new law stressed that it was important that transgenders feel comfortable using the restroom despite the fact that transgenders are a tiny portion of the population and that a vastly larger segment of the population will feel uncomfortable allowing a man to use a public pool locker room or shower among the women and girls. These Councilmen feel so strongly that they want to suspend your First Amendment rights and your right to personal safety to placate a tiny portion of the population.
The ordinance opens the door to sexual predators of all types including pedophiles, voyeurs, and the “up skirt” perverts like the Oklahoman reporter that was arrested a few years ago. The new law sets aside legitimate and long standing practices of society that ensures the safety of children and women, one that endangers the emotional health of both women and children and literally opens the door for increased rape, assault, indecent exposure, sexual abuse, and molestation.
Right now Cleveland is holding Open Meetings on this ordinance and a raft of others that are aimed at “discrimination” toward transgendered men and women claiming that a man in women’s clothing is at risk in a male restroom while also claiming that the idea that a person enters a restroom or locker room intending to attack or ogle others is ludicrous. I can see this leading to in the closet child molesters, voyeurs, and other perverts either claiming they are transgendered or that the women’s restroom is cleaner or more convenient. But really once this law passes the perverts just need to simply walk in and enjoy themselves because they will be protected by the law against anyone that expresses disgust or dismay.
Massa Charlie on a Rant
Charlie Meadows of OCPAC put out a remarkable article in his weekly email, not so much for the content but because of the sheer single minded racism involved. It is rare that we will print an entire article from the bombastic and demented Santa Claus look alike but this one is especially telling of just why OCPAC is way past due for a new leader. I added some sarcastic commentary in bold type inline with his content:
++ WHY BLACKS HATE COPS & HOW BLACKS CAN BE WINNERS, NOT LOSERS!
I have wanted to write this piece since trouble began to boil in Ferguson, but just couldn’t do so until now. First, I must state, NOT all black folks hate cops and MANY black people are already winners, they are not losers. This commentary is about that large number of black folks that do hate cops and are losers. MANY black people aren’t losers, Charlie? I’d say the vast majority of middle class and upper class blacks are winners. You are confusing color of skin with social class and attitude.
I will surely be called a “racist” and a “bigot” by some for even writing a word about the whole situation. But I take my old friend the Reverend Jesse Lee Peterson seriously when he pleads with white folks to overcome their fears of being labeled with these old clichés and speak up on issues of race as most of the civil rights leaders and too many of the black pastors are not telling black people the truth nor are they saying what needs to be heard by black folks to overcome their hatred and thus escape their sadness, poverty and loser status. People won’t consider you racist for writing about race relations and the mindset of lower class blacks, they will consider you racist or not based upon the words you use that project your mindset.
One more point before I begin. What two things would you guess the following people have in common: Alan Keys, Ward Connerley, the Reverend Jesse Lee Peterson, Jonathan Small, The Reverend Stevie Craft, Retired Major General Jerry Curry, Al Mertens, Arlie and Janice Ponds, the Berkley children, and Toby Pedford that come to mind at this time. The two things they all have in common is they are all black and they have all been a speaker at one or more OCPAC meetings sometime in the past. I personally respect all of these folks and even look up to some of them. Why, I can’t be racist. I know some black folk and treat them like they are white. And Toby Pedford? The guy that posted pictures of himself with two extremely nasty porn stars on his facebook page? Really? Toby, as interesting of a guy as he is, gets mentioned with national figures and ministers?
In addition we have had numerous black folks attend our meetings, interviewed black candidates and even had former State Senator Connie Johnson speak at OCPAC, though there is little I agree with when it comes to Senator Johnson’s agenda and values. So call me racist if you wish, the record suggests otherwise. Not the record Charlie but your words. It might be a gentle form of racism but there it is.
With all of that in mind, some of what I am about to say is not going to be ear tickling to some in the black community. Have you ever wondered why we have these flare ups, usually at a key time before an election? This election cycle it was the death of Michael Brown, prior to the previous election cycle it was the death of Treyvon Martin, prior to one of the Bush elections it was the horrific death of a black man dragged behind a pick-up, never mind the perp or perps in that case had already been convicted and I believe sentenced to death.
I suspect it not all that uncommon for a black man, particularly a young black person, to be shot by a cop, and perhaps killed, somewhere in America on a weekly basis, so why this shooting? If true, that statistic is in no way evidence of a crisis regarding blacks being shot by cops for the vast majority of those shootings are justified. Truth is, there are a lot of black males that are very angry and have allowed their hearts to be filled with hate. Just as love is a motivational force, so is hate and hate towards others almost always motivates people to do evil things. Hate causes people to walk around with a chip on their shoulder, be rebellious, sullen, arrogant and look for opportunities to get even with those they hate or surrogates of those hated. Some of the police shootings do fit this profile but many, many more are simply a nervous cop caring more about avoiding any risk regardless of the consequences to the citizens he comes in contact with. People have come to expect violence in the lower class black community but we expect our police officers to act professionally and assume the risks of their job like the rest of us do in our jobs without killing citizens because they “might” pose a threat.
Lawmakers make laws and set standards of civility, however it is the cops that must enforce those laws and maintain civil order. As such cops are the ones that come into contact with the lawless and angry rebels. In those confrontations they have the legal authority to use whatever force is necessary to constrain the angry rebels and that often ends up in violent confrontations. Cops are hated by rebels because they are the front line defense against evil and the keepers of civil order. An angry rebel with bad personal character never likes it when force constrains him.
Blame the victim Charlie, I suppose in your mind that is better than admitting that we have a problem with a small segment of the police force in just about every city in the U.S., one exacerbated by the aggressive training and military equipment and mindset.
Did you ever wonder, why Ferguson or why the St. Louis area? Could it be that the black community in the area has been plagued by a barrage of hate inciting messages for many years by race hustling civil rights leaders and Democrats seeking votes and were therefore primed for an explosive reaction?
A few years back it was the St. Louis area that had to endure hate inciting radio ads and perhaps TV as well as direct mail pieces. The radio ads featured the sounds of flames as the voice in the ads suggested if blacks didn’t get out and vote, they would see burning crosses in their yards or their churches burned down.
Those ads were aimed squarely at black citizens in an attempt to get them to the polls, knowing they would vote Democrat if they could just be motivated to get to the polls. I believe those ads were primarily designed to save former House Speaker Dick Gephardt as he was twice challenged in close races by Bill Federer an outstanding speaker we have had at OCPAC on several occasions. However, regardless of the motive, the effect was to build layer upon layer of angst against white folks in general, cops to be more specific and especially white cops. Charlie, this fear mongering sounds a lot like some of your radical homosexual articles where you froth about homosexuals taking over and raping your children. Yes they have an agenda but most of us are content with ignoring that agenda as long as they aren’t given special rights or protections. But you enjoy using them as a threat to further your agenda. How are you any different than the race baiters?
Therefore, when the shooting of the Brown kid occurred, the atmosphere was a power keg waiting to be lit and lit it was. Then you throw in the communist agitators, the community organizers and the anarchists of the occupy wall street ilk as well as the inflammatory words of President Obama, Attorney General Holder and a liberal press wanting sensational action, it was like pouring gasoline on a raging fire.
Another thing that makes this more difficult for rational people is that after looking at all the facts in the case, this was not a difficult call. I believe there is little doubt that the “gentle giant” was anything but gentle. I believe it far more likely that he was a common thug, that bullied his way around anytime he wanted. Much like Trevon Martian, both of them made some very bad decisions that got them both shot and killed. True, Charlie, but does that give you the right to call MANY blacks losers? Why not just single out the lower class blacks causing the problems and speak to their behavior and not include the MANY blacks you feel are losers?
Normally parents that lose a child need time to grieve and be left alone. However, anytime a parent is in a high state of emotional distress and then goes forward with public policy demands, they are no longer off limits. Actually in many cases they are very dangerous as quite often their thoughts and ideas are more motivated by irrational emotions rather than logical and reasonable decisions based upon facts and truth. This often results in some very bad laws or regulations, which later become very hard to change.
Perhaps one of the first sins to plague mankind is found in Genesis 3: 11 & 12. After Adam had sinned by eating from the tree in which God forbade him, Adam and Eve hid themselves from God when they heard Him walking through the Garden of Eden. When God asked Adam why he was hiding and if he had eaten from the forbidden tree, Adam answered by saying it was the woman You gave me that caused me to disobey. In other words, this is the first occasion of many where man blames others for his problems rather than manning up and living with the consequences of his bad decisions.
I looked and looked for a quote from a commentary about the parents of the Brown kid from the Reverend Jesse Lee Peterson and couldn’t find it. But to the best of my ability, the jest of it was something like: all the drama and emotionalism we see in the media from the parents is a diversion to not draw attention to their failures in raising this kid. He turned out to be a thug (remember, we have video of the Brown kid and his partner committing a strong armed robbery at a neighborhood store just a few moments before he was shot and killed).
It is rather sickening to hear his mother say her son would never act the way he was portrayed by the officer who shot him. I am sorry but his mother speaks out of ignorance and irrational emotionalism. That is further evidenced when the day after the worst night of rioting, his mother said her husband, the step father of Michael Brown, would never suggest violence, when the night before he is caught on tape screaming for people to ‘burn the bi#*^ down”.
From the beginning of the initial shooting of Michael Brown a mob gathered chanting for justice. I would suggest the mob mentality operates on great ignorance as they have little intellectual capability of understanding what justice is and probably wouldn’t recognize it if it hit them in the face. Justice is a serious request as it is blind and follows the evidence to render innocence or guilt and usually a severe punishment if not tempered by some mercy. Yes Charlie, we get it. In your world MANY blacks are inferior and incapable of understanding things which is why your version of God placed you over the blacks to keep them under control. You be de massa Charlie, you be de massa. You are one of God’s chosen people, we understand all too well Charlie.
Let me suggest some points of justice in this case, some are already rendered and some are still up in the air. After a thorough investigation, the DA should have declined to press charges and it should have never gone to a grand jury in the first place.
However, it immediately blew up into a dangerous situation and the DA probably didn’t want to handle such a hot potato, thus he sent it to a grand jury. The grand jury decision was just, based on the evidence, but true justice would now demand the other kid in the strong arm robbery be charged with that crime and in addition charged with perjury as it was his apparent false testimony which immediately made the situation get dangerous.
Others that came forth to give eye witness testimony as to what happened on that day and then later admitted they were not eye witnesses, should also be charged with perjury. If the Brown kid’s family members file civil lawsuits, those should be rejected by a reasonable jury. However, the Brown kid’s step father should be charged with inciting a riot and everyone’s businesses that were burned down as a result of his actions should also file civil cases and sue him for any property he has. I will be surprised if much of this goes forward as most of America has been intimated and bullied from dealing justly the worst in the black community for fear of the very thing that happened in Ferguson and many other cities in America.
The problem is anytime crime goes unpunished, it is crime rewarded and an incentive to expand crimes, not have less of them. The fact that law enforcement has dealt gently with rioters in the past rather than put them down, hard if necessary, has just given more incentive to ever expand situations like this. We do have the right to peaceful protest in America, but it sometimes becomes a razor thin line between the time a mob turns from a peaceful protest to one of violence and law enforcement must be ready should a good protest cross the line. Kill em all Charlie? Is that going to be your new nickname? We have all seen peaceful protests broken up by goons in riot gear and tear gas yet you wish to remove the right to strident protest because of criminals feeding off the chaos in one protest? How about the peaceful protest here in Oklahoma City? Should the cops and the Governor been ready to crack heads just in case? Or when the teachers show up to protest?
A large part of the black community in America is in real trouble. Seventy three percent of all black children are born out of wedlock. Homicides are 10 times more likely to be committed by a black person than a white or Hispanic. The crisis of blacks being shot is caused by blacks shooting other blacks, and that is the crisis, not cops shooting blacks. Black youth have the highest unemployment statistics of any other sub group in America. For many there is little hope and thus it paints the picture of a large group of losers. Following are the words of former NBA star and current sports commentator Charles Barkley published on the editorial page of the Oklahoman 10-31-14: Lauuudy massa Charlie! You done tole us darkies where wese belongs.
“Barkley exposes ‘dirty secret’
We as black people, we’re never going to be successful, not because of you white people, but because of other black people. When you’re black, you have to deal with so much crap in your life from other black people. It’s a dirty dark secret, I’m glad it’s coming out. It comes out every few years. I wrote a big chapter in my book about it to be honest with you. I said when young black kids, when they do well in school, the loser kids tell them ‘Oh you’re acting white.’ The kids who speak intelligently, they tell them ‘You’re acting white.’ So it’s a dirty dark secret in the black community. One reason we’re never going to be successful as a whole is because of other black people. For some reason we are brainwashed to think, if you’re not a thug or an idiot, you’re not black enough. If you go to school, make good grades, speak intelligently, and don’t break the law, you’re not a good black person. It’s a dirty, dark secret…
This debate if funny. We’re the only race that tells people if you… have street cred - that means you’ve been arrested - that’s a compliment. We’re the only ethnic group that say ‘Hey if you go to jail, that gives you street cred.’ It’s just typical BS that goes on when you’re a black, man.”
Charlie, Barkley is black and he spoke the truth without calling the majority (MANY in your vernacular) losers or saying the majority were incapable of understanding logic or justice. Barkley spoke from a mindset of ignoring color of skin and spoke of class and brainwashing in the younger kids that have had no life experiences to balance peer pressure.
I would suggest black folks understand the vast majority of white people today have no desire to suppress or hold black people from obtaining a prosperous and wonderful life. In face most white people of today, including myself, would love to see black folks climb out of poverty and despair to achieve all that God has called them for. However, there are right ways and wrong ways to achieve what is good and pure.
May I suggest the number one thing holding black folks back today is a bad attitude. With the passage of the civil rights act in the 1960’s, the evil Jim Crow laws which suppressed black people were repealed and blacks now have full legal rights as any other citizen in America. Organizations such as the NAACP were necessary to achieve legal equality, however, once that was achieved, the continued existence of such organizations have become more of a problem than good. Today, to justify their continued existence, they stir up problems. The best thing black folks can do today to change their attitude is to move on past the victim mentality. Yes many evil things were done to black people in the past, but that was in the past. We should never abandon history, but to dwell on the evils of the past and not move on is an attitude killer.
If I were a black person and wanted a change of attitude, I would flee most black churches, at least if a black church continues to make its congregants out to be victims. Black folks are welcome in most white churches, but there will be some cultural differences. It might be good for success to emulate good cultural traits of white folks. Be careful of the music and entertainment in which black people spend their time. That which is good and glorifies God is good and that which promotes violence, disrespect, drugs, immoral sex and the things of a rebel are harmful. What you take in through the senses of your eyes and ears is what you become, just like the things we eat are what we become. Massa Charlie, it sure is mighty white of you to edumacate us po misguided black folk. Sho is good to know that the majority of black churches be bad Massa Charlie. And we sho will start acting white Massa Charlie. No mo shuffling around, we pulls dem britches up and buys us a belt, and we gets us a job too Massa Charlie. No mo of dat black culture either, from now on we be listing to Christian music. And we stop eating dat dark chocolate Massa Charlie and dat dark bbq sauce wits our ribs, from now on it is white donuts and steamed rice till we be white as you Santa Clause skin.
We live in a country with a good justice system, not perfect, but good. We still live in a country with a lot of choices, we are better off if we chose wisely. While we all should be willing to reach out to troubled people when God makes those opportunities available, we should be careful to surround ourselves with friends that are good people. As the scripture says, bad company corrupts good morals. Understanding and applying God’s principles to one’s life will result in a healthy and strong individual and spread out for the good of family and even further to the good for society. There are really no real lasting answers to life’s problems outside of God’s ways and principles applied to our lives.
Charlie, are you really this stupid as to think our justice system is good? Justice is there if you can afford the best lawyers and you are politically corrected. Everyone else is charged with maximum sentences regardless of the circumstances and the juries are kept in the dark on important facts while the lower court judges suppress the truth and ignore the law because they know that a tiny percentage of convictions will be appealed and an even tinier percentage will be upheld until they reach the U.S. Supreme Court. And Massa Charlie, drop the “God’s chosen people” spiel and admit that there are many other faiths that you might not approve of that provide their people a good roadmap to life. You are a religious bigot Massa Charlie and I will allow your own words to show if you are a race bigot or not.
Thanks for your time and attention, don’t miss this week’s meeting.
Massa Charlie makes the mistake of thinking he is one of God’s chosen people and that the majority of blacks aren’t capable of self control or self government. He calls MANY of them losers probably because it makes him feel superior for a few moments and it solidifies his self image of belonging to a superior race.
Charlie reminds me a lot of Rep. Sally Kerns in that his version of Christianity demands that he be above all other faiths and like Rep. Kerns Charlie is also sadly lacking in qualifications for being a public figure, mainly in internally listening to themselves while speaking and understanding how their words can come across as quite ugly. I don’t believe that either soul is a terrible person, just way out of their league in a very public life. Both would benefit greatly from thinking before speaking.
