1 Peter 2:9 But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people, that you may proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light.
CALLED FROM DARKNESS INTO LIGHT
When we report the facts of our life circumstances, praise should no doubt be involved. We were in the darkness, now we're in the light. There are times that we have glimpses of what life was like in the darkness. The pain of a guilty conscience, fear of the future, and discontentment are all shadows of the darkness that we have without Christ. Many, many people are in that darkness and it's not just a shadow, it is their life. They know nothing else. They have no peace and no hope. Sure, someone may have a veneer of peace, but deep down inside terror reigns for the unbeliever.
In the light it is a different story. As one who is part of the people of God, you can have a conscience free from guilt. You are aware that Jesus scrubbed you clean from your sin by His precious blood. You have peace instead of fear. You have joy and satisfaction in your life because you know that the Lord loves you and has prepared a place in heaven for you.
So then let others know what life is like in the light. People can be thunderstruck at the greatness of God as you describe what you have. People can see the greatness of God reflected in you. In the light you act and talk and even think in a way that describes the glory of God and the great things that He has done for you.
