Next Wednesday, we will be having a Zoom meeting with a difference, it is being Zoomed directly from the speaker's abode in South Wales. The speaker in question is Phil Savoie and the talk is entitled Principles of Photography. A photographic journey of self-improvement. Learn how to up your photo game with award-winning cameraman Phil Savoie.
This talk covers topics not often discussed from the science of our vision, lens testing & optical physics, eyeline and the psychology of perspective as well as the odd location war story.
The thrust of Principles of Photography is to share easy, practical shooting methods resulting in a noticeable improvement straight away. The aim is to educate, increase visual intelligence and inspire while having fun doing it. Pro tips for participants to grow as photographers- to produce higher image quality, advance storytelling and develop artistic acumen. Illustrated with local British images, covering all genres from landscape to sport, wildlife, people and astrophotography.
What to expect: Principles of Photography is a big talk focused on how to achieve better pictures catering to all levels from beginner to pro. We will address photographic foundations often missed out. Members will be encouraged jot down questions in the chatbox to revisit during the break or the end Q&A discussion. Principles of Photography isn't the normal 'muscle flexing' photo talk commonly seen at clubs. It offers useful practical information and professional operating tips that members can apply to their own work. Phil is a very passionate photographer and genuinely wants to help others improve.

This is a meeting that comes highly recommended by other clubs and will be well worth watching in the clubrooms in glorious Technicolour and CinemaScope with super Dolby Surround sound.
