Community invited to open house TONIGHT (July 16th)
Construction of the new maintenance building in Huntsville is complete and the town will be showcasing the building with an open house and ribbon cutting ceremony on July 16, 2013 from 6 - 8 pm.
The address of the new building is 165 south 7500 east in Huntsville, on the site of the former Valley school building.
Light refreshments will be served and the public is invited to attend.
The new, six bay building will replace the old, dilapidated building that is located west of the Ogden Valley Branch Library. The 4,500 square foot building was constructed by Roper Buildings and will house the town's trucks and heavy equipment.
The building and surrounding property was financed from a variety of sources, including a Community Development Block Grant (CDBG), a loan from Zion's Bank and the proceeds from the sale of the old maintenance building and property, which was recently sold to the Weber County Library.
In conjunction with the new building, a multi-use play field (soccer, lacrosse, etc.) was constructed jointly by local landscaping contractors Grass Plus and Western Landscaping. The new field is located between the new building and the existing park and was funded with the proceeds of a RAMP grant (Recreation, Arts, Museums and Parks).
