Skin Unwell handlar om en paradox som bara vissa upplever. En känsla av att vara irriterande kvicktänkt men samtidigt tre steg bakom - alltid. Det är bitternostalgisk klagosång från den som ristade i skolbänken till ljudet av vuxna som sa "om du bara ansträngde dig mer...". Ljudbilden är fortfarande Spunsugar-typisk med intersektioner av hårt och mjukt, eftertryck och stillhet. Kontrasterna består i snabba kast från skinande gitarrljud till fuzziga riff. Olika pulser från bas och trumsamples vilar på varandra. En reflektion av ett trögt, trevande liv som tycks rusa förbi en.

Hjulet i sockervaddsmaskinen går sönder och spårar ur. Vi är avkommor till bönder, bibelbältets-fundamentalister och trailer trash.
