The Provincial Grand Master & Grand Superintendent sends greetings to all Brethren & Companions in West Wales and their families and friends. As in previous years, RW Bro Eric and Helen are not sending Christmas cards to friends and relations who they meet in December and to whom they wish a “Happy Christmas” personally. Last year they “saved” £50 which was donated to the Festival. This year’s savings will be donated to Helen’s favourite charity, Dr. Barnardos.

Brethren across West Wales have been growing facial hair to raise awareness about men's health issues and money for the 2013 Movember Appeal. It has been a great success and has caused a great deal of mirth and banter at Masonic meetings over the course of the month. The Provincial Grand Master (pictured above) has caused a great deal of interest by how much younger he looks with his new Movember moustache. It wouldn't be a surprise if he opted to keep it for the rest of the year and beyond!
The Provincial Grand Master would like to convery his thanks to Provincial Information Officer, W Mo Bro Dirk den-Hartog for the enthusiastic way he has encouraged the Brethren during the appeal!

Caerfyrddin Lodge No. 4928
|
Seven years ago Mr David Davies from Cardiganshire broke his neck in a diving accident in New Quay which left him a Tetraplegic (paralysed from the neck down). He spent a year at Roowwood Rehabilitation Hospital in Cardiff, followed by five and a half years in a nursing home in Gorseinon. He is now in a specially adapted bungalow in Cribyn, Lampeter and it is extremely important for David to keep going with regular physiotherapy sessions in order to cut down on the large amount of spasms he experiences. Caerfyrddin Lodge 4928, together with matched funding form the Province of West Wales have provided David with a Full Body Passive/Active exercise machine. Pictured above left are W Bro Martin Jones, Worshipful Master, and W Bro Phillip Rimell, Charity Steward of the Caerfyrddin Lodge, together with David in his home, with the equipment.
|
After the sad passing of W Bro Harold Metcalfe, previous Secretary and long standing member of the Caerfyrddin Lodge 4928, donations in his memory have been put to a good use with a presentation of a Portable Finger Pulse Oximeter to the Towy Ward Glangwili Hospital. Pictured above right are W Bro Philip Rimell presenting the donation to the Staff at Towy Ward.
